Default NBA Games on TV?!

Why is it so bloody difficult to watch a friggin basketball game on TV in this country?

For crying out loud, I can watch poker until I puke (3.8 seconds), but I can't get a basketball game to save my life. (No, the Raptors don't count.)

I'll happily trade you my NBA coverage for your hockey coverage.

I don't mind the NBA but can't we get more College Football than we get up here and some damn College Hoops.

I pay $120 month for 700 satellite channels, and the only frickin basketball game I can get is a Wsh/Phi game from 2003 on "Raptors TV."

...meanwhile, the Suns and Lakers are playing right now in a showdown of the two top teams in the Western Conference...

There you go. Vastly superior product to what the NBA produces.

Complain to TSN and Sportsnet. For 24 sports channels, they show nothing live except hockey, raptors and NFL. I don't need to see 10 straight hours of sportscenter. Even if you they can't show something live, it doesn't hurt to show an NBA game (or other sport) a few hours on delay. Perhaps FanIn80 doesn't know the result yet and would watch late into the night. Sportsnet had a nice baseball contract where they would show a late west coast baseball game, can't understand why they don't do that for NBA.

The Score is trying to show more NBA, College Football and College Basketball but they're not as big a channel yet.

I get NBA Live or whatever it's called (multiple HD games) with my super sports pack (which includes the NFL package and Centre Ice) for $30/month with Rogers. Not too bad.

It would be nice but when you look at the ratings, the fan base just isn't there. The Raptors don't get great ratings and other NBA games are even worse. Although these games were going up against playoff hockey, you would think someone would tune into NBA playoffs.

But even with that kind of competition, you'd think the second round of the NBA playoffs would do better than it did Tuesday. The Dallas-Denver game averaged 17,000 viewers on The Score, which is about the same size audience that would stick through an hour of static.

But that was positively huge compared to the audience TSN2 drew for LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks: 9,000. Yes, it's TSN2 and it's still not on Rogers Cable (13 days to Jay-Day, if you're counting.

What provider do you have?

Score HD has Minny @ Toronto
Raptors HD has Cleveland @ Memphis

No kidding. It's like these networks aren't even trying... Showing live hockey to Canadians is pretty easy. How about taking a chance on some other sports once in a while?

NBA Live? Is it anything like Center Ice or NFL Sunday Ticket?

I'm with Star Choice (now Shaw Direct, but not to be confused with Shaw Cable).

Sorry, I think it's called NBA League Pass. Anyway, you can watch pretty much every NBA game (other than the Raptors, who are almost always on national TV).

I'm with Bell TV and there are always plenty of NBA games on in HD. RaptorsTV, WGN, The Score, TSN, TSN2

Basketball... ZZZZzzzzzzz. It's fine live but on TV it's a snooze fest.

I'll save you the trouble.

One team will get really far ahead, and then rest the starters. The other team will catch up, and then it will come down to the final possession, but not before 100 time outs.
