Default So I've upgraded to a Mac...

Is anyone else able to get the GM software to work on their Mac? I've tried everything, but I must be doing something wrong.

Any helpful hints?

I hate to break the bad news but this sim will not work on your mac. I got a mac a few years ago and had the exact same issue. I always had to do my lines from work which made things harder.

If you get get 10 minutes on a PC everyday you'll be fine otherwise you might want to ask someone to help you out just in case you miss a day or two.

Options: Use boot camp and install Windows to run your windows based programs.

I have taken this right from the SimonT site:

Q : Is there a Mac (Macintosh) version of the STHS or the STHS Client?
A : No. If you use an Intel base Mac, you can use a virtualization program Parallels Desktop.

Thanks for the heads up. I still have a PC in the house, so it shouldn't be a problem to get them done.

Ya, like I said, you could always install windows on the mac. But to be honest there are only a handful of programs I have wanted to run that can't on the mac, the biggest was the SimonT sim.

I think one of the main reasons I switched to Mac is so I wouldn't have deal with awfulness that is Windows. So I'll make the hop onto the PC only for the CPHL and hopefully, nothing else...ever again

Exactly what I did. You won't regret the switch!

I do my lines on my mac all the time... you need Parallels or bootcamp. I prefer Parallels because you can run windows and mac OSX at the same time.

Heres a pretty good video on how to install it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJCAw...eature=related

Paralells is not free, you can take 2 approaches: Buy it at futureshop or "Buy it" from the internet. *cough*torrent*cough*

What you will need is:
-Copy of Parallels (I use Paralells 3.0 I think - but 4.0 just came out last month)
-Working CD of Windows XP, Vista, 7... whichever one you have.
-Working CD Key for that Windows disc.

So when you get that all running you need to run paralells and go through the sim procedures to get the sim program to work:
http://cphl.calgarypuck.com/pages/rosters.html

Download the Support Files - install them while you are in paralells.
Download the GM Editor
Download the Roster file

You will get an error I believe when you first open the GM Editor - dont worry about that just click OK and click File->Open then select the roster files.

You should be good to go then.

The downside to this is you have to open parallels everytime you want to make your lines but that shouldnt be a big deal. Hope this helps.
