At this pace google might as well take over the world. This could be incredibly useful for keeping up to date on events you follow in real time. As the article mentions you can try it out with the current google trends. Go ahead and click on one ... you can see a little live updating box in the search results. Pretty cool.

This almost replaces one of my favorite things about twitter. I like being able to search words or phrases like "traffic crowchild" or "song on House tonight" and get immediate feedback from people commenting on the same things. It's usually pretty easy to figure out why you're stuck on crowchild or what song was played during the previous nights episode of house.
As Google searches twitter (and twitter posts show up in the real time feed), this is certainly a 1-up.
