Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.
While Jets4Life just posted a bunch of alleged "facts" out of the air without support (and which are mostly false), the true entertainment in this thread is that Resolute 14, probably the worst offender for the same thing on CP, is calling him out.

1) 17 of the top 500 Corporations in Canada call Winnipeg home, fail on Corporate Support http://www.fraserinstitute.org/Comme...ada_1009ff.pdf;
2) The population is too small to support NHL hockey;
3) They have a modern NHL approved arena by two seats (although I am assuming when the new Corporate boxes come in, they will lose those two seats and thus not have a modern NHL approved arena);
4) Momentum, not really sure what this means, perhaps it means that some people really hope that this happens ; and
5) Winnipeg apparently has a booming economy...
Just when the Laffs are winning and finally getting some attention from TSN, Jets4Life had to start a thread about the Jets coming back to Winnipeg and stealing the thunder. Shame Jets4Life shame
On the bright side, I'll bet the arena would fill up on "Toss a Billiard Ball in Sock" night.
Seriously though, Red Deer has a better chance of landing a team.

Out of curiosity, let's say Winnipeg did have the most corporations. Can someone explain to me why Wilmington, Delaware doesn't have an NHL team? Or any major sports franchise?

Because no corporations are actually located in Delaware, they just register there to take advantage of the legal regime.
God Winnipeg is annoying. Shutup about your lack of an NHL team.
The way things were for you in the 90's you are lucky the Flames still call Calgary home. Luckily you have something we don't: money and people. I can watch all the youtube videos I want of the old Whiteouts, the fact is this is Winnipeg where people wanted to keep the Eatons building rather than have a new arena. We can't even build a new stadium for the Bombers (who blow ass right now).
Thank you Calgary for the Flames, for giving me a reason to spend $1000 dollars and drive all night with 3 buddies to see Game 4 of the finals in 2004. Hopefully I see the Red Mile again in 2010 Playoffs.

Jets4Life, the only thing you have proven is that Winnipeg fans are slowly becoming worse than Vancouver fans, as far as my list of 'Fans I Like' goes.
By the way, my list has coporate support, a billion seat stadium... oh, and a video to back up everything I am claiming:
The Jets are not coming back... There are probably 10 American cities ahead of Winnipeg on the NHL's list. It's more likely that Toronto gets a second team.
I can debate with you about this subject until the cows come home. The fact is Winnipeg can and will support an NHL team if given another chance. It's sad that so many people in a fellow prairie city are so indifferent to NHL hockey returning to Manitoba.
We have to corporate support
We have the population base
We have a modern NHL-approved arena
We have the momentum on our side
We have a booming economy (well at least we weathered the recession well)
Winnipeggers are hungry for NHL hockey. It's not a matter of "if" we get a franchise it is a question of "when".
