I like Bella Roma in Lakeview and Nick's Pizza & Steakhouse. Also Titan's on 4th Street NW was a place we'd often go to when we lived in that area.

The best pizza I've ever had in my life sadly, comes from Edmonton.
Royal Pizza had opened up a location or two here in Calgary but the one in royal oak closed down and the on eon 17th ave sucks.
But the Royal in Edmonton....wow. I've never seen so much cheese on a pizza in my life before. It's the only reason I go up to Dumpsville once every year or two.

does anyone know of a decent pizza place that will deliver to Chestermere? the only options i have in town is Dominos and 2 crappy local places. my main staple before moving here was Inglewood Pizza, but they won't deliver here. and the only ones i've found that do are the big chains which all suck
finding good pizza in this city (and surrounding area) is a pain

Need to say a big thanks for this recommendation. Had it last week, it was delicious.
It was even better the next day when I put the leftovers into the toaster oven. Mmmm.... volos pizza......

Hey, I ordered from Royal Pizza a couple of times when it was in Royal Oak! Yeah, it was quite good. Can't believe they shut down so fast

Yea, I've been a Volos addict for awhile now, thanks to Tron. I entirely quit ordering from Nicks (even though it's very good) and now only eat pizza from either Volos or Hanni's.

Matadors is very good as well - lots of cheese. A similar pizza place is in silver springs called Mittilinis who I think has the best pizza in Calgary. I think they are owned by the same person but I could be wrong.
Not much in Royal Oak or Tuscany besides the big chains (dominos is in Tuscany right by the Sobeys). Ive heard the last staw's pizza isnt great but Ive never tried it.

Gotta give props to Mitillinis. Always great pizza.

A Pizza Plus on Bow-trail and 45th Street... 2-1 always and thick and meaty. 2 Peices and you are extremely full.
If you are looking for something a little lower in Fat but is still tasty... try the thin Crust Beef Taco (without sour cream) or the Thin-crust Tropical Chicken from Panago. 5 to 7 grams of fat per sllice. If that is your thing.

I used to agree, until I tried Beckham's. Atlas is still good, but I've yet to introduce anyone to Beckham's who doesn't say it's in their top two of best pizzas they've ever eaten.

Agreed - I love that place and try to hit it every time I'm up there. I too was excited when it opened in Calgary and disappointed when the Royal Oak location disappeared just as quickly.

No love for Jovan's pizza? Although a large is the size of a medium everywhere else.

Panago?
Odds are you're only going to get doorway debit from a chain place

Pizza Hut has debit at the door. Extra $2.50 debit charge or something like that.

I've never been a huge fan of Coco Brooks. Everyone raves about it but I've had their pizza maybe 5-8 times and have never really been impressed.

Haha, I stumbled across that place by accident. I had crossed the brdige to shoot the Manhattan skyline with the sunset, then headed for the nearest Subway station to get back to where I was staying. So it's at 9 PM when I passed this massive lineup on the sidewalk that's not moving with a couple of bouncers, thought it was a club at first.

Was looking to try something new and thought I'd give this a shot tonight. Wasn't greasy which was nice, but overall I thought it lacked the crispness of a nice Greek steakhouse pizza. Not a lot of cheese, which helps with the grease. The Chaparral had way too much hot sauce, IMHO.
I did like how they put their toppings (ie meat, veg) above the cheese, like Stromboli's in Kensington used to. Might have to try my old Stromboli's staple of double mushroom and pep to see how it fares (though their dough is noticbly more dense than Stromboli's was).
Still, pending that, I can only give this a 6.5/10 for now - all IMHO of course.
