Groups D and G have to be seen as the group(s) of death. I am extremely happy with the draw for the Italians, however being in one of the two groups of death in 2006 worked for them. Sometimes having the harder group earlier is a positive since you have to be sharp and are playing harder games earlier on in the tournament (if you make it out of the group).

They'll definitely blow something up, I doubt it'll be soccer related though.

B and G look to be the most difficult IMO, although D looks pretty intense as well.

England has a favorable draw, but the round of 16 match against group D will be difficult for whichever teams move on from group C.

Not too worried about it. England just needs to make sure they finish above the U.S. I expect the Germans to win Group D, thus putting England against either Ghana, Australia, or Serbia. I like those odds.

Ghana is certainly not a pushover and England hasn't faired all that well against Australia in the recent past. I wouldn't look past either of those sides.

Looking past those sides France could await in the next round. That would be epic.

I love this part of the tournament, just predicting what could happen and figuring out the potential dream matchups is great.

I agree that they aren't pushovers, but it would take a lot for either of those squads to knock England out. However, I would be a little worried if the Germans somehow finished second in that group.

yep I love England's draw

US gets hyped but are just not a very good team, although they probly finish 2nd in this group of cake

I also love their route to the Semi's as well

probly get Ghana in the round of 16, Uruguay in the Quarters

wont get tough until the Semi's with either Brazil or the Netherlands

ya very unlucky for Portugal

the game with the Ivory Coast is going to be very important

will be fun to see every team run up the score on North Korea though for the goal differential

Yeah, Portugal v Ivory Coast is the first group match. It will be intense to say the least.

I don't like POrtugal's chances in this group.

That's about as favourable a draw for England as possible. The rehearsal draw was pretty good too but this one might even be better.
Whatever, you eventually have to play the good teams and they could meet the Germans in the Round of 16 which is never fun (except for 1966!)

Still have to play the matches though but I do like their odds.

I love the Brazil, Ivory Coast, Portugal group. Some awesome matches there. Portugal is in tough which might make VANFLAMESFAN unhappy but is actually rather amusing to me!

Well it will be VERY AMUSING to me when England crash and burn in any stage of this WC. Whenever they lose, life makes sense.

			^^^Touche
However, being English means that you simply accept that the national team are going to suck! (No matter what the ridiculous National press say)

 I'm ok with that now......

The guys on BBC said that England should be absolutely delighted with this draw. Early in the program they had a list of teams that England wanted to avoid and the US was on it. However, Shearer pointed out that it would be a bigger problem if England wanted to avoid the US than actually having them in their group. Basically, they shouldn't be worried or troubled by the US.

Confidence is really high over here, not sure why but they seem to have a good feeling about this summer. Personally, I'd love to see them win as I'm close to party central and would have to walk through the Portuguese part of town to get there.
