Same reason they were attracted to him in the first place - $$$$ and fame.
Tabloids pay big $ for exclusives. Book deals. Appearances on Oprah.

If you believe in what marriage is supposed to be I think you would fight for it, not throw it away. I'm not trying to justify or belittle the error that was made, but it is forgiveable. Granted the trangressor will need to account for and change their behavior, but having friends who have survived this I can tell you it is not about being a chump, but a champion.

Wow I can't believe that we have almost 400 posts on this topic.
When did we become a gossip website?

This thread is doing a lot better than the "Good News Only" thread . . . . . which confirms my point about human nature.

Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to say that we will be faithful to our wives and not fall into temptation. As an average Joe or whatever, that's easier to pull off compare to be someone like Tiger who is a huge cultural figure who can easily be surrounded by beauty. With his persona and the options that come crawling to him, it's hard for us to know for certain if we wouldn't be able to hold off.
Doesn't make what he did right, but put ourselves in his shoes and granted some of us would have great difficulty not doing the same thing he did. When the stats say of all marriages for men and women, 50% of them result in one of the partners having sex with someone else. That's a pretty telling stat.

You don't think being the greatest " anything" of all time is a redeeming quality?
Money and looks aside, it takes a one in a billion person to have the talent, determination, focus and work ethic to achieve what Tiger has in golf.
To have that level of success in any field or discipline, is an extremely redeeming and respectable quality. Very few people can reach that level of elitism in whatever it is they're doing. This is something that most women would find very attractive in a male, and most males aspire to achieve.

It's okay to cheat and then ask for forgiveness is not a message you pass on to your kids.
Divorce is sometimes the only way out when trust cannot be earned. Imagine everytime your spouse went on a business trip and you sitting at home wondering if he'll hook up with another gal. My sister faced that situation and decided to kick her ex out of the house as trust was not going to be earned. There are some lines that are crossed and no ammount of apology is going to fix that.

I dont care whether Tiger cheats or stays faithful, in reality, its no ones business. He doesnt owe anyone an apology, except his wife and family. I will still cheer for him when he wins and I will continue to follow him in the golfing realm. Anything beyond that, I do not pay attention to. Be it a celebrity or anyone that I know, their personal life is their own.

This thread was a whole lot more fun before everyone got so serious. Cheaters are scum bags, let's just get back to the Tiger jokes.

News conference cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
I'm betting these circumstances included a letter of confidentiality and a gym bag full of cash.
