The Heat have 759 PIM, while the next most is Bridgeport with 631.

Nevertheless Abbottsford is tied for 6th place in the overall AHL standings.

they're actually 11th in winning %

the wacky loser point sure makes a mess of that stat however. In a 29 team league, only 5 teams are below .500

also, some teams have played 27 or 28 games while others have played just 20 - what a screwy schedule

as for PIMs, with Watt, Vandermeer, Grantham, Chucko, Pelech etc not a surprise the Heat are near the top in penalties

They're in 7th spot, percentage wise, in their conference so they are in position for a playoff spot. I've been expecting more from them though, with the additions of Backland and solid vets such as Murray, Jaffray and R. Armstrong. Three rookie defencemen may have something to do with a slower start although I've heard good things about them, so I expect the team to come on later in the season.
