I have a feeling I might be fata'd for this one....
In any case, anyone thinking about participating in this?? I'm no superstar, but I think it'd be a hoot to see a team CP.
Play On

I was up near (not in) Edmonton last week and I was reading in the Sun (booo!) about this tourney. The gist of it the article was "Street Hockey Tourney Snubs Heartland of Hockey".
Seems in all the locations a junior team (plus the Moose in Winnipeg) had something to do with it -- sponsoring it or something, but the Oilers wouldn't have nothing to do with it, so Edmonton got snubbed.
They were bitching alright, and even quoted some yahoo saying "no way Calgary can pull this better than us no way them damn Calgarians bla bla bla bla".
It was pretty funny. Those 'Chukkers can even get steamed up about something like this.

Reggie, that would be a awsome idea!
If we can possibly get i dunno 40ish people, it would work.
Maybe we can have a CP cup or something and make it a anual summer thing like the anual winter heckle with Oilfans.
Just a thought.....

Maybe I'm just used to high costs for ice hockey but I can barely believe that people are complaining about the registration costs.
$41 plus tax per person isn't that bad considering the tournament is two days and you get a t-shirt with registration. Heck, I can blow $41 on a weekend simply by not paying attention.

I would be all over that like a fat chick on a smartie
I love playing road hockey, be it goal or defense, I'm more than happy to pick up a stick and have some fun.
$41 per person... who cares. You could get drunk go to a bar, and spend that without remembering where it went (which I've done before) so why not get some exercise, have fun, and remember the weekend for years to come.
I've played in competitive tournaments before, and enjoyed every second (even when my team got demolised).
Have fun, play hockey

I'm down for whatever. I got goalie gear, but am quite the block of swiss cheese. Roman Turek makes me look bad. But I love to play in net. If anyone needs a goalie just to shoot around, or doesn't expect anything other than me getting a few welts by the end of the game, I 'm your man.

Bringing back an old thread here but I'm just wondering who indeed has registered?
41 bucks a person is no big deal for all the organization that goes into this. Prizes for the winners, a t-shirt for participating and 3 guaranteed games on a downtown street. Me and the first 4 buddies I asked didn't have a problem with it.
So anyway, if anyone here actually is playing then please share you team name with us and what division you are in. You can find me as the team captain of 'Five Guys With Nothing Better to Do' in the All Stars Iginla division.

How did everyone do? Our team managed the Quarter finals of elite, but we couldn't pull it out. Much too tired with the lack of a sub.

Believe it or not, but there is a "North East Cup" tournament going on right now in the N.E. Teams from all over the N.E. play on Saturdays and Sundays at the outdoor rinks in Temple and Martindale. It's been a helluva tourney so far. I think there are 16 teams. The fee was only $3.00 per person.

Haha, our team actually won the Adult All-Star league. Was alot of fun, some really really close games and then some games that weren't close at all. Can't even walk now though, those games get intense.
Quarter finals of Elite is awesome. I watched some of those games and there are some crazy good teams in that. Wish I coulda watched the finals (we were playing on the rink next door), both the teams in it were amazing...
