They are actually two. If Miami had won today and been 6-5, they still would be on the outside looking in.

This Colts team may not be better then past teams or the Superbowl winning one or even the best in the league, but man have they ever entertained the hell out of me this year. They have found a way to win now 5 games in a row all in which they trailed at some point during the 4th quarter!!! This team just finds a way to win and has found a way to overcome injury after injury.
I know he inherited a damn good team and maybe the best quarterback in the league, but Jim Caldwell deserves a lot of credit for the job he's done in Indy.

As a football fan, Peyton Manning and the Colts are the most entertaining product around, period.
We are all very fortunate to watch Manning in his prime. The Superbowl is the ultimate prize, and anyone who has followed the Colts over the last few years knows that a 16 and 0 season means nothing at this point, without a Superbowl ring.
Which is another reason I love them Colts!
Enjoy it while it lasts Colts. This is a great time to be a football fan.

I think New Orleans, New England and Minnesota all offer as much entertainment as the Colts do. The fans of those three clubs aren't left wanting week after week, that's for sure.

Thats because...well...as of right now they are out of it. Any team with 6 losses will have to win out to have a chance...and looking at those clubs I dont see any chance of such. Dont take it personally. If one of them crawls back in, I will include them....deal?

i would sooner have the cocky, trash talking top 5 QB than a guy like Cutler who constantly looks like he is moping around and pouting, blaming everyone else.. For a guy who has "a stronger arm than Elway", he sure is a pretty lame QB. all the tools but no toolbox

Man, Andy Reid is a terrible coach. Starts the game off with an onside kick against a terrible Redskins team. It gave the Skins a bunch of confidence and the Eagles barely escaped with a win. Nice slant call to DeSean Jackson across the middle, too. IDIOT! Now his best receiver is out with a concussion.

I don't know about that. This many teams at 6-5, it's possible that there could be a glut of 9-7 teams and tie breakers galore. A lot of these teams still have a few games against each other, so they're not all going to win out. In order for the second WC team from the AFC to get to a 10-6 record they'll need to finish out with a 4-1 record. Right now I might like the Titans chances to go 5-0 better than any 6-5 team finishing out at 4-1.

I was upset when the Niners lost to the Titans, but seeing the run the Titans are on they deserve all the credit they are receiving.

Big game tonight!
I made the mistake of watching some ESPN "analysis" last week and got so mad I'm hoping for a Saints blowout of the Pats.
4th in the power rankings? Really?

Manning may be the best QB of all time, but I can't stand how he points fingers after every play that does not go his way.

As a football fan I have to say that I find every matchup entertaining. You never know what is going to happen in any game. Look at the Lions and Browns last week. A lot of analyists are calling that the most entertaining game of the 2009 season, so far.
For me entertainment comes from a close game. Being on the edge of your seat untill the final buzzer. It doesn't matter if the score is 43-42 or 13 -10. Drama is what entertains me on the football field.

No he doesn't. Maybe in earlier years he did but the last 3 or 4 years he's really matured.
"We don't get overexcited certainly when things aren't going the way we want them to," Manning said. "We don't panic, we don't yell, we don't throw helmets. We just try to put the series behind us and move on to the next one. There was a lot of that [Sunday]."

The West still might come down to the wire.
The Niners are 2 games back against the Cardinals.
Next week the Niners play the Seahawks and the Cardinals play the Vikings.
They play each other in Candlestick in 2 weeks.
It isn't that difficult to picture that Dec 14th MNF game bing for 1st in the NFC West.
SF's other remaining opponents are the Eagles, Lions, and Rams (respectively).
Az's remaining opponents are the Lions, Rams and Packers (respectively).
I think if SF beats AZ they can win the west even if they lose to the Eagles. That would mean going 4-1 and finishing at 9-7. If AZ beats the Vikings and the Packers then they deserve the NFC West.
And that isn't discounting the spoilers the Rams and the Lions will want to play.
It is going to be interesting.

Yes he does. Yesterday, he made the sour face, and waved his hands after failed plays.
His teammates probably respect him, but I doubt many of them like him.

Nope. If they flex out of the Eagles game (which I highly doubt unless Manning goes on IR), I think they'd go with either San Diego @ Dallas or Cincinnati @ Minnesota. However, I do think you'll see the Broncos/Eagles game get flexed into the Sunday night spot over Dallas/Washington on Dec. 27. That's a pretty bad weekend for football and that game is the only one that will have playoff implications besides the Baltimore/Pittsburgh game (although New England vs. Jacksonville has an outside shot).
The NFC East is pretty well down to a two-team race, especially with the rumour that New York may shut Manning down for the rest of the year. I think it's going to come right down to the wire, with the final game in Dallas deciding the division. Philly has some very winnable games over the next few weeks, with my only concerns being the games against Denver and at the Meadowlands.
With all of the injuries and the death of Jim Johnson, I'm pretty happy with where the Eagles are right now. They'd be further with competent play-calling, but that's my only gripe right now. That being said, I still think they don't have a hope in hell of getting past the second round of the playoffs.

If the Giants are hiding the injury to Eli won't the be on the hook for an even stiffer penalty than the Jets got for hiding Favre's bum shoulder?

He's listed on the injury report, so I think they'd be ok.

Eagles & Giants will stay on NBC for Week 14.
Delhomme will probably be out with a broken finger.
And it's being reported that Eli Manning has a "stress reaction", whatever the hell that is, and might be shut down for awhile.
