Official statement from Tiger.

...and I'm officially tired of this story.

I don't think Tiger is handling this terribly at all.

All he needs to do is keep winning golf tournaments. He's not obligated to tell anyone anything.

That would be true if he wasn't being paid hundreds of millions of dollars by various corporations for his squeaky-clean image as their spokesperson.

He's not only accountable to his golf game. His image is worth just as much or more.

In a perfect world I'd agree that his private life should be kept private. Unfortunately the real world is far too nosy for that.

So whats he suppose to do? tell the world that he got into a fight with his wife? that he had an affair on her? those stories are weak at best and most likely BS.

His image will be just fine and its nobodys business.

Well he can't just continue to ignore that anything is going on. Eventually he'll have to come up with a story for the public, BS or not. The other option is to villainize the gossip media and make himself out to be the victim. That seems to be what they're setting up now.

Maybe he is handling it perfectly.

Either way his image is different than it was a week ago. His sponsors will be watching this very closely.

Yeah, so they can put their money behind the other dominant golfers. Oh wait.

His sponsors pay him because he is the worlds best golfer. This isn't going to change that at all. Especially since he is taking the smart route and keeping things private. Just because he's in the publice eye doesn't mean we have a right to know everything about his personal life (despite what TMZ might have you believe). If he doesn't want to talk no one can make him. Nuff respect. Most imbecil celebrities would setup a one on one with Oprah and get a good amount of publicity out of it.

They pay him for his clean image as well. Why do you think Kobe lost so many endorsements after the rape allegations, which turned out to be false?

Why do you think Mike Tyson made virtually no money from endorsements despite being the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for an exteded period of time?

He already has his story, lost control of the car, wife is a hero. So long as nothing comes out to contradict that it will be the story that sticks. There's obviously going to be questions and doubts in the general public, but unsubstantiated rumors aren't going to have much of a negative impact.

You don't think the rumours affect his image?

About as much as the so-called pics of his naked wife. I think he got a cool 2 million for that "rumour" in a law suit.

Repeatedly ignoring the police is the wise thing to do, Tiger.

You'd think his new criminal defense lawyer would step up and speak to the police, at least. Since that's what he's likely there for.

Why on earth does he need a criminal defense lawyer in this case? He provided a blood/alcohol test, proof of insurance and ownership of the vehicle...by law there is absolutely nothing else he has to do. And it's probably his lawyers telling him to say nothing!

Tiger is not required to talk to the police. He was only required to show his license, registration, and proof of insurance.

Should he? Probably, but he's perfectly within his rights not to do so.

Under Florida law, Woods must show his license, registration and proof of insurance to police, but he is not obligated to give a statement on the crash.

Tiger's playing this right. Don't talk about it and it goes away - John Q. Public has severe ADHD, if you don't feed them anything for 48 hours they will move on to the next Paris Hilton crotch flash.

Sources tell TMZ the Florida Highway Patrol is now focusing on obtaining a search warrant -- allowing them to seize medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods -- in an attempt to determine if the wounds Woods sustained are consistent with a car accident or domestic violence.
Quote:
One big piece of evidence showing probable cause ... sources tell us Tiger's wife, Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers she went looking for Tiger in a golf cart, came upon the accident and then used a golf club to break the window to gain entry. That's a very different story from what she first told Windemere cops shortly after the accident -- she never mentioned a golf cart. Nordegren told Windemere police she had walked out of her house, saw the crash, went back inside to get a golf club and returned to the vehicle.
Quote:
If the FHP determines Elin attacked Tiger, we're told she could be arrested for domestic violence.

This is the states. She won't be arrested for anything without a witness,if Tiger says it didn't happen...then it didn't...period.
