Yeah, the plot holes are pretty large. Some pretty basic things that really bugged me.

A pay phone in the middle of a warehouse district...

Maybe. But if the V's can intercept the call coming from the pay phone (I would have to assume they were just monitoring that location because of the extraction) how could they not know that the DEA is also monitoring the line?

Why wouldn't they call the extraction team to go find out who was making the call?

If one of you went home with a bandage that big on your forearm, would your wife dismiss it that easy?

The kid punches one dude in a group of friends and the group holds back the guy that got punched. They don't go after him? When has that ever happened in the history of mankind?

The V's can intercept phone calls, project a huge high def video on the bottom of their ship that translates automatically in other languages, have a mirror that projects different outfits that changes with a swipe gesture, re animate dead people, cause hallucinations to torture, create and repair human flesh via injection but they cant properly expose or take A FREAKING PHOTOGRAPH?

like i said the kid bugs. and it was 2 against 10-15. i wish the others would have jumped the annoying kid and end his time on the show.

The technology they have in CSI (especially the Miami one) far outstrips anything the visitors might have brought with them. It's amazing what those crime labs are capable of these days, what with their holographic supercomputers with nanosecond response times on searches involving complex government databases.

Now that I think of it, maybe that's what the visitors are really after - CSI technology! David Caruso, get those sunglasses out...

Anyone else figure the lizards might not see things the same way humans do - and that their cameras might be more the infrared kind?

No one else?

Yeah, they would be able to recognize them by heat signature, yes - just haven't ID'd them yet. Makes sense to me.

this week's episode is much better. i think the series has potential...at least for the first season. really cannot see them dragging it on for more than that.

For some reason I really liked the episode last night. Maybe because there's so much really interesting background stuff going on.

Who among the visitors is in the 5th column?

Who among the human's is a Visitor?

Who among the 5th column is working for the visitors.

did they brainwash the soldier's wife? Or was she replaced.

When do the visitors snack down on Erica Junior there.

Nice use of the gunman plant to elicit sympathy for the aliens.

If they executed it right this show could be really interesting however I doubt it survives its first year.

No surprise that supergirl is Anna's daughter, how long until Jane Badler from the original series shows up as Anna's mommy.

Oh "And the fifth column says hello" paging doctor bad ass.

Yeah, this episode was easily the best so far. Here's hoping it keeps getting better.

This weeks episode was easily the best so far. Hopefully next weeks episode is just as good or better to leave the fall portion of the show on a good note.

Ratings fell another 18%. I don't imagine the show will continue on after next week. I missed Tuesday's episode but if some are saying it was better, ill check it out.

Its decent enough to watch, I mean I can see how in the 80's these types of mini series moved at a slower pace, now with the fear of a failure they rush story lines and make sure they can keep the very short attention span of a regular viewer these days.

I guess I'm just not understanding why a technologically advanced race with sinister motives is dancing around the maypole with spies, disguises and media containment instead of just annihilating us all or enslaving us, whichever they prefer.

I think they need to rationalize that pretty quickly or this series is going to disappear.

Secondly, I can't imagine Planet Earth and all of its corners of paranoia content with gigantic, menacing ships hovering over every major city.

Hasn't at least one city mayor somewhere, anywhere, come out and said, "Hey, frak off, you're blocking the sun!!!" or at least one President, somewhere, anywhere, said, "You know, we'd all be more happy and less trigger happy if you took that thing and hovered outside the 12 mile limit instead of over Central Park."

Love Anna, however, as one of the better menacing presences in the history of Sci-fi television.

I happened to watch the first episode, probably because I saw this thread in the days leading up to it. I watched it, but never bothered to watch it again because of the quoted points.
Call me impatient, but I can't handle leaps of logic for a full week when they're just SO illogical.

Seriously, the first episode has to explain why they're buddying up before killing us. Secondly, yeah, the big ships in the sky blocking the sun. Even the Simpsons knew that that'd be unpopular.

The oldest saying in the book in terms of war of any kind is "First you pacify them, then you murder them" While the Visitors are highly advanced we all know that its the board with the nail in it that kills you. I'm betting if this series carried on there would be all kinds of visitor peace initiatives like:

1) Hey guys our society got rid of weapons of mass destruction there's no need for you to have it so lets help you get rid of all the nukes, and chemical weapons etc that might harm you

2) Then, we'll eliminate all diseases for you, so really do you need doctors, let us help you.

3) Then hey its hard for us to work with all of these governments, in the name of global efficiency we're forming a committee of world leaders to speak as one to the visitors.

Essentially the V's are looking at a way to pacify the population against them, a attack and land invasion has to many ways to go wrong and too big of a possibility for alien casualties. In essence this is the fattening the cattle stage.

Then and we've seen it tested they manufacturer a terrorist attack that allows them to get permission from earths government to arrest those that are the biggest threat to them. In the original series it was a created conspiracy by scientists, in this case it could be a created plot by law enforcement agencies, or military leaders etc, which would allow them to lop the head off of the leaders that could prevent an apocalypse.

The recruiting of young people that they're doing is brilliant because young people are suckers.

They want a peacefull transition of humanity from potential threat to light salty snack, and a guy like Cowperson because he's smart, a little older and wiser and can cause trouble will be the first on the buffet table and nobody will care because they've bought into it.

The first thing that the aliens did was pretty efficient when they downed the fighter. It put the fear of technology into people.

If the aliens were smart they'd broadcast a constant stream of monday night football and soft core porn off of the bottom of their ships, that way they would ensure that the majority of mankind stayed constantly in the kill zone.

But do we really believe that she's the supreme leader?

Did love her practicing her speech with the tear. It reminded me of a mass murderer practicing for a parole hearing.

Disapointed.

This is the 2nd last episode before hiatus, and it really didn't go anywhere. All it did was introduce more chaos to an already heavy plot and storylines. Nothing picked up, nothing was exciting, it was just nothing.

I think Anna's second hand man, the target to the shooting... I think he is more menacing than Anna.

I was expecting more from this series, especially considering they are treating it like a miniseries to start... 4 episodes, then nothing for a few weeks, then starting up again. I would have thought by now we would have seen a little more action. I'm not surprised it's dropping in raitings.

Well, just watched the "last" episode until MARCH 2010.

Serious...what a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait.

I'm still on the fence for this show...although Lisa (Laura Vandervoort) will probably keep me tuning in.
