Lithgow should get awards for his performance in this show this year. Absolutely brilliant stuff, way beyond Jimmy Smits IMO.

yep. last season all i could think is that i was watching Jimmy Smits try to be a killer. this season i'm watching a deranged serial killer who tortures his own family, i totally forget that it's Lithgow playing that character

I finally got to watch Dexter Ep. 9 last night.
An OP on here used the term "Jaw Dropping" .....I couldn't agree more!!
-The interaction between Arthur & Jonah..Snapping trophies the snapping fingers!
-The "C" word and the reaction from it! especially the Wife, very creepy!
-The daughter & Dexter while clipping roses and then again the wifes comments
-Dexter on the kitchen floor with Mitchell
-Christine Hill open the door to Mitchell and saying: "Hi Dad"
I have to say, The absolute rage coming from Dexter was highly exciting, especially in the car on the way home. Such great acting by Hall.
I've decided to stop trying to guess what will happen next, My imagination obviously isn't on the same plane as the writers of this show. From now on I'm just going to sit back and enjoy.
Dexter has officially become my favorite show, But I can't leave this thread without at least a few complaints;
Again!!.......Batista & Laguerta is massively annoying and is a complete and utter waste of time! Yeah, their together.....so what? ....we all know it know!,,,,doesn't mean we have to see it!
Rita & Elliot? ......dumb. just dumb. The only good thing that came of that scenerio was the look on Masuka's face!
Other than that, The show is about as close to perfection as I've seen!
Thanks to the writers for the Anxiety!!

I have a feeling something important will come out of this storyline...not sure, just the Dexter writers are super creative

They get caught and she transfers out for next season (or gets fired, or they both get fired) and then next season Dexter can deal with his new boss who would make things tough for Dexter and possibly even suspect him of being a killer.
Edit: Sorry not clear, Laguerta and Batista get caught being a couple and get in trouble because they signed affidavits that said they were not in a relationship.

Agreed, In the 4 seasons of Dexter I have yet to see story "fillers" that didn't need to be there. Something is going to happen in the next 3 weeks.
I have a question?, I remember last season Rita or her mother saying she was married at 16. I seem to remember that her drug addict husband that died in jail was her second marriage.Am I right here? If so you don't suppose Arthur was her first husband do you? Man that would be nuts!
Also, I now have a new favorite serial killer, If Anthony Hopkins can win an Oscar for his performance John Lithgow should get an Emmy for his.

Good memory my man!
Rita's Mother didn't go to her wedding but she sent a card saying she hopes the third marriage is the charm.

You are right about that. I can't remember any story lines that "just didn't go anywhere" either.
My hope is that they get caught, Laguerta is sent packing....for good!, Batista is retained with a warning and that's where it ends with those two.

Agree, I can't stand anything about her, hard to explain, she just has that look that I don't like..at all.

i'm thinking that Arthur visiting his reporter daughter right after Dexter revealed his hand is very important. she might be his guardian, taking out those who might reveal him so he can stick with his code (thus shooting Lundy), and i'm thinking he'll task her with taking out Dexter next. this could potentially end up in a bloody royal rumble with the 3 and i can't wait to see how it unfolds

The Anton story line didn't really go anywhere and Quinn's theft of money really didn't go anywhere yet either. I don't really trust either of them especially considering Anton comes from a shady past and Quinn never really explained how he knew him...might they revisit the Anton character?

Anton was a victim that lived but needed to go because there wasn't anything left for him and I suspect Quinn's story isn't done yet.

I thought about that. But I hope that's not the case. That would be a little to nuts.
Also, I don't think they ever said she was married at 16, just that she was married before. Still if she was married at 16 because of a child, would it really fit that that child would already be the reporters age with Rita, persuably being only mid 30's? The reporter looks about 24, and I don't think Rita is 40. Have they ever said her age though? Did I miss that?

Exactly. Sorry I mean't no younger than maybe 24. So if Rita was 40 then it would sort of fit.
It would be crazy, but I just don't think it makes sense with the discrepency in their ages.
Does make me wonder if/when they are going to bring up her other marriage at all. It's got to fit in at some point.

Dexter's jaw drops:
He learns Rita is (1 of )Trinity's Daughters.
(Rita's Mom was/is a School Teacher too)
I'm not speculating any more.
I'm Not!
....I said I'm Not!...OK!!??!!

LOL, Yeah I thought of that as well but Rita's mom just seems like the type that wouldn't be able to hide a sister from Rita.
I'm staying on course with Quinn as Christine's sibling, he even said last episode..he didn't have any family for thanksgiving.

Wait, wouldn't that mean that they've been participating in incest?
(Christine is the reporter right?)
