I was so glad all these seemingly minor sideplots have kind of coalesced thanks to this last episode. The next half of the season should be sick.
There's only 3 episodes left, and if they follow the pattern they've established over the last couple of seasons, Dexter will probably kill Trinity in the second to last episode and clean up the loose ends (like the reporter/daughter) in the finale.

As I have said it would be weak if the reporter is the shooter, but...after looking back Lundy mentioned he had grown children who he never met...Reporter? Quinn?
Hate to quote myself but...
Seriously though, that was a great ending I never seen coming..at all.
My spidy sense still says it wasn't the reporter though.nor Trinity
awesome episode.
guess they decided to take a different son angle. can't say i'm not enjoying it!
love the 'daddy?' line to end it guy has two hot daughters, not bad!!
the mom saying dexter can do whatever he wants with her daughter was pretty f'd.
also love how the show continually takes normal fears and concerns and highlights them with dexter. for example worrying about his family being truly happy and not just faking it. i'm pretty sure that's something every parent worries about. dexter is far from the monster he thinks he is.
Loved the thanksgiving watching football BJ...every guys dream, the kitchen scene was awesome and of course the "hi dad" ending was great but:
OMG!!
my new possible spoilers in white!
Trintity said he had grown "children" not "child". We now know Christine is one of them, do you think the writers would have a balls to have Quinn as another?
Maybe Dexter himself is Christine's sibling,I don't remember any talk about his real dad..just his mother!
Have to admit, something like that would be talked about

What a twist! I wonder if there will be any other swerves this season, or if that's the last of it.
When did Trinity say he had grown children?
More wild theories:
Holy frack Trinity's household is messed up. I'm guessing Jonah probably ran away from home after that altercation, and will eventually save Dexter's life and be a part of Trinity's undoing.
Deb and Quinn now have both been in love with a murderer. Though the show hinted at Quinn being 'dirty' towards the beginning, I think he's somehow emerge as a hero in the end. Save Deb's life; maybe even kill evil reporter chick.
Still uninterested in the Angel-Laguerta lovestory. Does anyone care?
Shed being destroyed must also be significant somehow. Chekhov's gun, right?
Not sure where the Rita-Elliot romance is heading. Maybe serve to cloud Dexter's judgment and make him act out of violence. (addendum; was Elliot also the neighborhood vandal Dexter threatened?)

no that was a different guy. in all honesty i'm hoping that Rita keeps going with that neighbor dude and after one last Dexter screwup leaves him for good. i want lone wolf Dexter back, i'm tired of the family BS. of course it won't happen, but it would be neat if this whole ordeal with Trinity's family made Dexter realize that no cover is safe forever and causes him to mix things up a bit more

I totally forgot they only do 12, should be even more intense than I was anticipating with a more limited time frame to work with.
Best OMG moment in a while. I can't think of any serial tv show that has been consistently good for as long as this one has.
is there a show on tv that makes you more stressed, anxious and uncomfortable for 60 minutes every week??? Its nice that Californication comes on after to let me unwind and relax!
I thought that last night's episode was probably my favourite in several seasons. I thought that Deb was funnier than usual and Masuka was more human than usual. Very well acted by just about everyone - Dexter's reaction to Trinity's family was awesome - particularly his rage on the way home from the dinner.

I was worried about you. I thought your head may have exploded last night.
I'll admit I was going to flip out but the explanation makes a fair amount of sense. Far fetched maybe but Dexter has been known to have somewhat wild explanations and things happen.
The whole Trinity thing went up about 50x on the "disturbing" scale. Wow. When he was breaking his son's finger (his son is super hot by the way), I literally cringed.
Wow....this show never ceases to amaze me.
The only part of that episode that sucked was Rita's hair. Awful.

Lithgow should get awards for his performance in this show this year. Absolutely brilliant stuff, way beyond Jimmy Smits IMO.
