Default I think I saw a UFO tonight.

Ok, I know this sounds crazy, and there probably is an explanation, so I am hoping someone could shed light on this.

When I left my friend's house tonight (in SoCal), I looked up at the sky and was drawn to a faint moving light. My first thought of course was a satellite, but it was moving really slow. I pointed it out to my buddies and they saw it as well. We kept watching it, trying to decide if it was a plane or a satellite. We deduced it was too high for a plane. As we kept watching it, it started to make sharp "S" turns!!! We all looked at each other like, WTF? It then started to go straight and then disappeared. We kept our eyes in the sky and it came back a few seconds later, now going the opposite way. It started going straight and then started to make those "S" turns again and then disappeared.

I've actually seen this once before in my life a long time ago in Calgary. The object was flying slow, a few "s" turns, but this one actually made a u-turn and then sped up and disappeared. I never really talked about it and just kind of put it in the back of mind, until tonight.

What the hell was it??? Sorry no photos, just eye witnesses. Has anyone seen this before?

Now, before anyone accuse Neeper of being crazy or lying. I know Neeper to be a straight shooter, and I seriously doubt he would make up a story like this.

Neep, I got no explanations for what you saw. I believe you though, because I had an experience myself and fortunately I had witnesses. It's sorta comforting to know I wasn't the only one that saw something weird in the sky.

There's no way it would even show up on my sensor if I did have a camera.

These kind of things are seen all the time, My Dad went to his grave saying he believes in aliens after a sighting. but until one lands in front of me and communicate I think I'll choose to think of other explanations. (doesn't mean they don't exist) it's just I need physical proof for myself.

It is amazing how many reports seem to be propping lately though, the 60's and 70's there were lots, the 80's and up until about 5 years ago not so many..but lately it's been crazy. the one last year in Texas has the US governments lips sealed tighter than a frogs arse. A couple of vids on youtube from the UK look amazing and rather spooky but still nothing solid IMO. Then again, If some other beings have the ability to go the distant to Earth I guess they have the ability to hide as well.

Neeper, I might have you confused with someone else on these boards but are you not a photographer? in any case why not grab your phone and try to take a pic or better yet a crappy phone vid? Is it just the excitement at the time or just plain dumb?

J/K on the dumb part.

I thought Camera's could see better than our eyes...oh well, you would definitely know more than me on the subject.

That wasn't the first thing I thought about doing when I had my encounter. First thought was, "What IS that??" My brain was trying to process what it could be, and it never occured to me that it could be a UFO. By the time I realize it could be a UFO the thing was gone. So I can see why no one grab a camera (unless you already have one in hand).

Also UFO doesn't necessarily mean aliens. It just means it's something very anomalous and unidentifiable. Hence UFO.

Too faint, too fast, too small? You couldn't at least get us a blur? No tripod? I figure if I know why you couldn't capture it, it'll give me a better idea of what you saw. Not that I'd be able to explain it, just curious.

yeah I could have setup a camera on a tripod if I had one with me. But honestly, with the light pollution and how faint it was, I don't see how it would have been possible. We were glued to it just watching it. Again, it was a faint light that looked very high up.

I guess a logical explanation would be that it was a military test plane, since I am close enough to the desert from here? I dunno... it could have been anything. I just want to know what it was!

I don't doubt you or anything like that, and it could be a UFO, I suppose, but what kind of alien feels the need to drive his plane in S-turns? I mean, that's just a strange thing for an alien to do. Collecting samples, probing, abducting, those are things I can believe an alien does, but these weird flying UFOs are just... I dunno, what's the point?

This intrigues me. What makes you think it was very high up, higher than a plane? You said it looked a bit like a satellite, so I'm guessing it was a point, something with very small angular size. I mean you don't really have good stereo vision of things that are far away (just like anything several meters away is approximately at infinity in photography). Are you assuming a distance based on speed?

You're probably right about it being a military plane, or perhaps a helicopter?

I guess I am just guessing it was higher than a plane. It looked like a dim star that was moving. I am not basing it on anything other than it looked far up there.

I realise that but lets face facts, an Unidentified Flying Object has no luster unless aliens are involved, it would be boring as hell if we were talking about experimental aircraft the USA might be testing at 40,000 feet.

Did it have a particular color? I only say that as theres been a lot of sightings of "red" colored diamond shaped UFO's the last couple of years.
