2 big mistakes by the offense in the first half led to INT's. Defense held the Ravens to FG's though.
14-12 Colts at halftime.

Complete and utter domination by the Packers over the 49ers in the first half.
49ers have 57 yds of offense, including -7 yds passing. 1 first down.
The Packers have 362 yds of offense. Rodgers 274 yds passing with 2 TD's.
Unreal...what a jekyll and hyde team.
Oh...and its the #1 pick OV Alex Smith for the niners, and the guy who dropped from that spot to GB at 24 in Rodgers playing one another.
Worked out OK IMO.

Yes it did, but to be fair to Alex Smith, we don't know how he would've done if he had been drafted by Green Bay and spent years tutored by one of the best to ever play the game rather than being thrust into a starting role on a god awful team immediately.

Huge.

No question.
the funniest thing about that though is that McCarthy was part of the Niners braintrust when they made that choice...wonder how he feels about the two now?

Great throw by Fitzpatrick too. So often you see that pass underthrown.

I heard earlier this week that at the time they felt Smith was more mature and better suited to play right away.
When Rogers was dropping I was hoping the Chiefs would take him as Trent Green was 34 going on 35 and I thought it was a great opportunity to grab your next QB. Lots of teams made the mistake of thinking they were fine at QB. Oddly enough, if Green Bay doesn't take Rogers, I think Brett Farve is still their guy. I think the Packers got to a point where they'd lost a couple Pro Bowl QB's who'd been back ups to Farve and didn't want to let another guy get away thinking the 38 year old guy wasn't going to stick around forever. It's a tough call as Rogers has many productive years ahead of him still. But we've seen what Farve has been able to do so far this year.

The Chiefs actually play pretty hard most of the time. I can't complain about their effort so far this season. For a good part of the season the Chiefs have done a lot of the little things that should help inferior talent win games, like making plays on Special teams, winning the turn over battle. Just hasn't resulted in many wins for them. Looks a bit like that Baltimore game from week one where the Chiefs hang in there but eventually come up short.
Maybe I'm a homer, but I think the Chiefs do have some direction and that they are showing things where they might eventually turn into a football team. They still need two more drafts to fix themselves on both sides of the line of scrimmage but if they stay patient I think Pioli will get them competitive.

Homer?
The Chiefs, especially on defense, have some great young talent on their roster. I think Flowers is a pro bowl corner very soon. He impresses me almost every game. Hali, Jackson, Dorsey up front.
They need OL help and maybe another good RB. It won't be long before their moving up in our weak ass division.
Alot of great tackles have been drafted the last two years. KC probably should've grabbed one...and traded down to do it.

Saints playing with one healthy cornerback, leading 31-7.
Saints have 2 interceptions, 19 on the season.

How in love with Jason Garrett is Jerry Jones? If he's willing to get rid of Garrett and Wade, I can see that job being extremely attractive to Mike Shanahan. He can cure what ails ya!

Favre with another near perfect performance today. 3 incompletions, 4 TD passes and no INTs. Vikings lead 35-3 and Tarvaris Jackson is in with similar success. I'm assuming Favre's not hurt, anyone know otherwise?
That team is going to be very difficult to beat.

I've always thought that Elway made Shanahan look a lot better than he actually was. Those two Super Bowl teams were stacked. Even Andy Reid might've been able to win with them. I could be wrong, but that's how I saw it.

That's been my theory on Shanahan's destination since he got fired.
