Default ip address

i am in now way, shape or form, technically savvy on a pc.

i just signed up for nhl gamecenter, and low and behold, they black out all local nhl games, whether they are televised or not. i do not own a tv or have cable.

is there any way to change or manipulate my ip address so it does not come up in a calgary (local) context? ie: get around the stupid black outs?

*i just realized this maybe should go in the tech talk folder, mods please move is necesary*

They probably got smart on hotspotshield since HSS just redirects everybody to the same range of US IPs in the New York area last time I checked.

Would ultrasurf be protection while surfing on an open wireless connection?

I have a TV but I haven't watched it in years. Who needs TV when you can watch everything on the internet already?
