Unlike Iowa, they've been blowing out their competition on a weekly basis. Last night was only the 1st game they've won with-in less than a TD.
The Big East isn't exactly tough, but Cincy did beat Oregon St by 10 on the road (the same team that USC beat at home by 2 two weeks ago).
Saragrin's rankings have the Big East as the 4th best conference (ACC is 3rd) which is pretty fair I'd say. The Big Ten and Big 12 have been very, very mediocore this season.
|
I am not impressed with the Big East this year or in years past. At least the Big Ten has shown some ability to be good in the past.
For me Cincinnati and the Big East have shown that they don't have good football players or teams so I have a hard time belieiving that all of a sudden they took a huge jump forward.
Oregon State seems to have some real bad OOC games every year for some reason. Last season they were awful against Penn St. early on as well.
I could be wrong I just haven't seen anything from Cincinnati that makes me believe that they are any good at all.

If the Cats win out, they're Rose Bowl bound (possible rematch against Iowa). If they go 3-1 and Oregon heads to the Rose Bowl, I think there's a really good argument for them to play in the Fiesta as an at-large (maybe against TCU).
Although, there's the distinct possibility of them going 1-3 or 2-2 and playing in some lame Furniture.com bowl.
Go Cats!
|
If the Wildcats go 3-1 and finish 9-3 I can guarantee you they won't be going to a BCS Bowl. It'd require a ton of one and two loss teams to drop games. Even so, Arizona is not exactly a program that's going to draw much interest in BCS Bowl games. If all had 3 losses, teams like USC, Oregon, Ohio St, Miami, Wisconsin, and Penn St would all be selected ahead of Arizona. Boise St. (assuming TCU gets the auto bid) would also be selected ahead of Arizona I'd say.
Arizona likely ends up in the Holiday Bowl against Nebraska.

When it rains it floods man. It does suck. Hopefully molestach can stop throwing 5 picks and things will work out. I really feel bad for sooner fans though.

Should be a couple of great finishes here.
Ohio St up 7 on Iowa with under 5 to go and Iowa driving.
Florida has a narrow 17-14 lead on South Carolina on the road in the 3rd quarter.

Well Iowa is going to need a miracle after they get nothing on their OT possession.
Serves them right for that ultra-conservative coaching to end the game. They get the ball back with 50 seconds on their own 35 in a tie game with one time-out and they just run on 1st down and let the clock tick down. You might like your chances in OT, but you can't just give up a potential game winning drive like that.

55-21 Final.
That definitely shakes the BCS a bit.

Montana pounds Northern Colorado 38-10 in Missoula. The march to the playoffs continues.
Next week Griz/Cats in Bozeman! Should be a great game as MSU might need that win to get into the playoffs.
Can't wait to watch Kalispell native, Brock Osweiler make his first collegiate start tonight as a true freshman for Dennis Erickson's Arizona State Sun Devils!!

Dang, the Trojans got absolutely destroyed today. Now I want to see TCU and Boise State make some noise in these last couple weeks.

I was worried about this game all week. OBC had this circled on the calender all year. Gotta give it to sc though. They played great and made a game out of it for awhile. couple 3 missed FG's and two TD passes that should of been caught if the reciever would stretch out for em and its a blow out.
Just look at UF in 06, They didn't win any pretty games and still won it all.

Alabama wins 31-3.
Florida does not deserve to be the #1 number team in the nation.

Fine by me. Everyone here in tuscaloosa are all worried about being number two. It doesn't matter we were number 2 when we played both Bama and OU last year and how did that work out for them being so worried about being number one?
but if you watched any of the florida game you would of known they missed 3 FG's and two TD passes along with SC getting a TD when he was juggling the ball when he went out of bounds. Should of been a blow out but I think fans like you expect UF to blow people out every week.
Just look at florida's stats from 06. this team is MUCH better and they clownstomped the buckeyes in the NCG. I rather them be number two because they play better when they have no respect.

I agree Texas should clearly be the number 1 team in the country, but it doesn't really matter now as Texas will be able to whoop whichever team wins the SEC Championship and show that they are #1 when it counts.

LOL at texas. Many people on ESPN dont think texas is the best team in the state of texas. Just because they put the hammer down on Baylor doesn't mean they are unstoppable. Good lord they played a very weak and injured oklahoma team and barely beat them in thier own back yard.

Oh please, what team in Texas is even close to them? Houston? Come on.

The Idaho Vandals have given up 70 and 63 points against a couple of Conference foes on the road. Ouch!
It would be interesting to see how Boise State would do if they had to play in a competitve conference like the Pac 10 where any team is capable of beating another team save WASU this year. They beat the Ducks at home, but could they go on the road and win all 3 games against some of those teams?

Rough start for my boy Brock in Eugene. To be expected I guess given the situation.
