In todays Herald Ken King writes that we should remember that TELUS is a good coporate citizen, despite the ongoing labour probelms. ( I do not work for Telus, but get lousy customer service from them)

I seem to remember another good corporate citizen locking out employees for a year.

Try this link

King also wrote a great article on Hockey in Alberta for the Herald on the weekend, as part of Albertas 100. ( no Link)

Nice work.

Well, I work for Telus Mobility, and can assure you, we aren't locked out. Telus has been ranked a top 10 employer in Canada for a number of years, and has also been named to Canada's good corporate citizen list a number of years as well. So he's right. Telus is a good corporate citizen. Shares have gone up steadily since the strike started as well. Telus sponsers a number of sporting events, including the Olympic bid, (though they didn't get the Olympic contract,) and sponsers the Flames. Why wouldn't Ken King stick up for them?

As far as lousy customer service goes, Telus and Telus Mobility are run seperately, and even I, as an employee, get poor service from them from time to time. However, not all customer service agents are *******, and there are some in every company. Food for thought.

Also, remember that the people who are on strike are the people that clean the phone booths, etc in BC. All positions that can be easily outsourced. If someone thinks they deserve more than 10$ to clean phone booths, well then go ahead and strike.

Not sure why this isnt in the Off Topic forum but.
