How can an NFL QB throw 5 picks in one game? Is that a record? If not, what is the record?

Matt Stafford tossed 5 picks last week in Seattle, the week before Kurt Warner threw 5. Matt Sanchez threw 5 against the Bills another week earlier in the year. I'm sure someone has thrown 6 before, might even be Delhomme. Teams are throwing more than ever and 5 INT games are becoming a weekly occurrance. I'm beginning to think...Jay Cutler maybe is Jeff George v2.0
It's acually another Chicago QB, Jim Hardy of the Chicago Cardinals in 1950 who threw 8 interceptions in a game. Back in a day when I think they only threw about 15 passes a game.

That might have been one of the worst football games i've ever seen. The ending was interesting because of the chance to win for Chicago, but it really was a battle of whoever wasn't going to screw up last. San Fran managed to suck a little less then the Bears. I like San Fran's defense. They need to get their offense going to be a much better team.

when people mention him as a great QB, i have to laugh, he is a cry baby who crys and mopes when he loses, he is a loser and the broncos made a great move getting rid of this bozo.... i hate the bears, so i love to see Cutler sucking

Nothing makes me sadder than an agent lost his bladder on an air-plane.
Nothing makes me happier than a spoiled brat throwing 5 pics on a Thurs-day.

I've said it before and I'm going to keep saying it until someone on the Niners looks at this board and realizes the beacon of knowledge that I am - FIX THE OFFENSIVE LINE.
In their defense, the line is a patchwork due to a boatload of injuries the past 4 weeks, but it wasn't the line they wanted right from the start of the year so they need to work on it.
If I wasn't a Niners fan I doubt I would have been able to stomach watching the whole game.
Edit: Apparently the joke going around the press room was "The only one who came out of last nights game looking good was Josh McDaniel."

Who else is fired up for the Norv/Andy split-screen? If a terrible coaching decision doesn't decide this game, I'll give you a full refund for this column. All right, here's a great e-mail from Jay Modad in Kalamazoo that I received after Andy botched the last five minutes of Sunday's Dallas loss:
"Andy Reid is a great coach for 3 and a half quarters. In baseball, most starting pitchers do their job really well for most of the game, then need a little help to finish it out. I think you see where I'm going with this. The Eagles need a closer. A coach that they can bring in at the end of close games when they're trailing, or winning by a touchdown or less (save situations). As asinine as this sounds, tell me Eagles fans wouldn't strongly consider it."
Consider it? Are you kidding? They just broke their necks nodding violently. It's a fascinating idea and I spent way too much time thinking about it. Every coach has a flaw or two. It's impossible for them to be perfect. In Andy Reid's case, he knows how to handle the media, build a roster, come up with game plans, delegate to assistants, get his players playing hard for him, keep them prepared and keep them motivated. It's a eight-step job and he nailed seven of the steps. But he's helpless with clock management -- as we saw last Sunday in painful detail -- and since he's been doing this since the mid-90s, it sure seems like he will always be helpless. It's his Achilles' heel. So why not fix it? Either have the Clock Management Closer come in and stand next to him, or even better, just have Reid actually leave the sideline and head into the locker room like a baseball pitcher. He could even get a standing O on his way out. I would love this. Who wouldn't love this?

It is interesting going through the NFL Offeason thread again.
Dis and Joborule were absolutely irate about the whole Cutler saga.

Yeah, I really was. I still don't like the way it went down (from both sides), and Orton is not the answer (not that McDaniels thinks he is). Cassell's name even being mentioned made me sick to my stomach, but Cutler has done nothing to back up everything I have said about him. He's got all the talent, evidently no brain and no heart.
Good riddance.
Now we have to find a QB again though, and that'll take some doing.

Why is it seemingly so hard to draft and develop QBs? It seems like there is a sincere lack of competent QBs in the league now than even before. Am I out to lunch? Is this a reason for the real bi-polar nature of the league right now with very good teams versus very bad teams and not alot in the middle?

Having two first round picks will help in that won't it?
You'd have to assume that th Chicago pick will be relatively high, unless they somehow turn it around and have a good end to the season.
I'm thinking that both teams with 2 first rounders will be looking for that "Franchise QB" (SF and Den). And aparently there are QB a plenty in this years draft.
