DC sniper to be executed tonight....

This guy is just pure evil, and a poster child for capital punishment.
Though i have reservations about executing the convicted in a lot of cases...this one is a no-brainer to me.

The terror this guy brought upon the DC area in 02 cannot be disputed, and I have no doubt he is guilty and belongs in prison for life, but I just don't agree with capital punishment anymore. I used to think it is a good policy or deterent but I just don't like it.

In this case its the purest death penalty that there is. There's no doubt that this guy did it, he got a fair trial, he's a multiple murderer with little to no remorse for his actions.
At least he gets to die easy falling asleep first.
He didn't give the same courtesy to his victims.

During my travels I met a couple of girls from DC and I asked them about this. Just their initial reaction was enough to tell the whole story. Like the hair on their bodies stood on end and the fear came rushing back.
They told me about how they would have to hide down behind their cars while pumping gas, any walk outdoors was pure terror. They walk along with only one thought in their mind: they were possibly about to die. Hearing it from a real person instead of on the news was just creepy.
That son of a bitch held an entire city hostage for weeks. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

My sister was at College in the NOVA/ DC area at the time this occurred, it was an experience you don't wish on anyone except maybe the DC Sniper himself. People were running from their parked cars into their houses, work buildings, shopping markets. The areas they targeted had lots of open space, and if you have ever been down there that is all there is, it is like LA only there is grass. I hope he dies a slow and painful death.

They should both be executed. I remember hearing the court didn't really discriminate against who was actually pulling the trigger. They were tried essentially as if they were both pulling the trigger, but I think the kid did nearly all the killings and he will spend life in Jail probably. Just kill him too.

The mode of death really isn't the punishment. The real punishment is the mental anguish he will be going through from now until the moment that he goes unconscious.
I'm not arguing that he doesn't deserve it, but he has to be going through some serious grief right now.
