Agreed with this. Except I had a bad experience last time at Momo-Yama.

And Blowfish is very expensive for what you're getting.

Weird, I've heard a lot of wildly varying reviews of the place. Never actually been there myself as a result. The only Greek place in the city I've liked so far is Parthenon.

The Inn on lake bonavista. One of our favourites with a really pretty view of the lake

Alloy. Just off MacLeod Trail. Went there with a client and it was superb. Not too pricey either. I thought the food was excellent. Kind of hard to find though because it looks like an office on the outside (they've renovated inside, but still looks like an office on the outside).

I went to Cattle Baron recently and if you want steak without being hoity toity it is great. Keg prices but the steaks (in my opinion) are surperior to Caesars or the other high end steakhouses. Atmospehere is nice and comfortable.

I don't think anyone has really helped Jorje our Mexican mod out yet.

Where ever you decide to go for dinner make sure that you head over to Nectar in Inglewood for desert. It's a little hard to find, there is a red door that goes to the upstairs desert place and it's fantastic.

I went to Bookers last night with a dozen friends based on your recommendation. It accomodated us well, the game was on, the food was good and well-priced. Overall, a fun time. The one gripe I had was the slow service but I would go back for sure.

To me, it wouldn't be a very good date place.

I'm going to shamelessly promote the restaurant that I'm at.
Bistro Piq Niq/Beat Niq

http://www.beatniq.com/piqniq.htm

It's a relaxed small restaurant upstairs with live Jazz vocalists on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Thursdays through Saturday it's live Jazz at the Beat Niq downstairs.

The menu prices are reasonable and the food is typical, simple french bistro fare. Nothing hoity toity but definitely good quality.

Are any of these nice places kid/family friendly? I've got an anniversary coming up soon but will probably have to drag along a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old.

My 8 and 6 year old did well at an early seating at Bolero. The guachos will let the kids try on the hats.

Tony Roma's (yes I know it's not a "nice" restaurant) has a good thing going for kids. The second you sit down somebody comes out with some veggies for the kids to munch on. It's healthy and it keeps them quiet. Ingenius!

I really like Redwater, it has really good food but it a little pricey. I have been to Open Sesame once and I really liked it.

For sushi I really enjoy globefish as well as sushi boat.

For Donairs and shwarmas I would suggest Jimmys A&A, some of the best ones I have had in the city to date and they are huge.

+1 to Booker's. BBQ, deep fried pickles, seafood. How could you go wrong?
