Sandwich I can't help you with, since I agree, Calgary sucks for sandwich shops. As for pickles. Go down to Polcan or Old fashioned meats and deli. Terrific pickles.

This is a favourite in our house too, but the specialty store we used to buy it in closed. Once in a while I can find it at Superstore, but now it comes in plastic bottles instead of glass, and we think it tastes terrible.
The specialty store used to import it directly, but I think the stuff at Superstore is getting bottled here and it's just crappy.

So is there anywhere in Calgary good to go for more specialty pops? Or just the usual places (Safeway, Co-op).

It's not a pop, but I miss the pear green tea that Costo in Beacon Hill used to sell. I think I saw it at the 7-11 on 4th, by 64th NW.
Can't remember the name, going to have to go internet hunting...

I used to be a Coke addict. Had to give up the juice though for medical reasons.
Any kind of cottage crafted root beer was always a favourite too.

There was a great Root Beer from Nanton, I used to drink it all the time in College-more recently, I had an awesome one called Boylan's Root Beer -I think it was purchased at Sunterra Market
Also, the Centex Gas station has a few bottles of Pop Shoppe pop in the cooler, only a few flavors though

GUS which stands for Grown Up Soda. Their Dry Ginger Ale is fantastic and so are all their other flavours I've tried.
Izze Sparkling Juice is also pretty good.

2L of anything and you should be good to go. It's more about the size of your bladder than what you're drinking.
