I mostly drink carbonated water/club soda, but out of the sugar drinks my favorite is Dr Pepper.

I remember that stuff in the old style cans that had two tabs you pushed in - one for drinking, and an air hole. The kind that got banned because kids kept slicing their fingers open.

I used to think that too, then switched over to Diet Dr. Pepper a few years ago when my metabolism started slowing down. I'm sure I'll die of cancer from all the aspartame, but hey...I won't be fat!

I'm still waiting for Coke to just offer it's drink with cane sugar and less of it. No weird Aspertmane or other fake sweeteners.....just real sugar that's made for those of us who like the taste, but don't need it to be so sweet.

I have learned that A&W Rootbeer in Canada is nothing special as much as it's their big brand and they push it as such, it's just average root beer.
A&W Rootbeer in the States? A Much difference and much more delicious beast. That stuff is actually brewed, and has aged Vanilla in it.
Big Red is awesome too.
But the overall greatness is Mexican Coke in the Tall Glass bottles, no High Fructose Corn Syrup, just pure Cane sugar! awww yeah

Nothing is better than the taste of an ice-cold Coke poured over a glass half-ful of crushed ice on a hot day. So refreshing. Mine would be Nestea Iced tea though

I thought they banned those because the little part from the air hole could (potentially) come free and people would drink it.
For cola I prefer pepsi, unless it is being used for a mix in which case coke rules.
I tend to get Rootbeer when it is from a fountain.
And every so often I'll get something like Grape Crush or Dr. Pepper to change things up.
Has anybody in town seen Vernors? Now there is a ginger ale (I think it is classified as a ginger ale) with bite.

Jones cream soda, the pink cream soda (Crush?), and some of the other Jones flavours. Superstore carries them, but it's getting very expensive to buy the stuff (like $13 for 12 Jones).

It doesn't get any better than Coke from Mexico with real sugar in the thick re-useable glass bottles. I've heard that some Jewish markets have kosher Coke that uses real sugar, but I haven't been able to find it yet.

I used to love the fountain Root Beer from the Huntington Hills Community Centre any time I played hockey there. Anywhere else, it just wasn't the same.

Nothing really, I don't like pop rarely ever drink it.
But on the rare occasion I do, my favorite is Orange pop.

If you live in an area with a large Jewish population, you're probably able to find kosher Coke that uses cane sugar instead of corn.
Any Jews out there know if there's a kosher grocery store in Calgary?
Edit: Sorry gargamel, didn't see your post but I will leave mine up to stress the importance of finding a kosher Coke.

coke in glass bottles was definitely better.
A&W Rootbeer at the restaurant in a tall glass is also awesome.
