Thumbs down Pocket Dialing

Why the fudge can't I remember to lock my keys? It's happened to me at least a dozen times, but lately, it's become an epidemic. You'd think I'd learn after the super embarrassing episode a few weeks ago when I pocket dialed someone I did business with, and didn't discover it until I had left a full 3 minutes of me talking to my dog on her voicemail.
Think I might have learned last week when I pocket dialed my buddy? (thankfully, not embarrassing)
No, I still haven't learned. Just now, I pocket dialed QR77??! At least the chick was cool. She mocked me for a minute then asked if I wanted to go on the air and discuss the Stamps. I respectfully declined.

Seriously time for me to get a flip phone.

My phone rarely pocket dials. But it loves taking fuzzy black pictures of my pocket. Sometimes it will record a video of my pocket and sound of me walking. I hate it when I go to look through the photo album and theres 5 pictures of my pocket for every real picture.

Almost everyone has pocket dialed at some point. I think its funny, whether I did the calling or got the call. I've only done it once with the iPhone. As long as I hit the button, I'm good and safe.

I own at pocket calls... I have had some extremely embarassing ones... some involving singing.

My most recent one ended up being to my old boss, but the weird thing was that I didn't even have her phone number in my phone. I don't know how my phone managed to call her. But it was really awkward, and she assumed I was drunk... at noon.

I've had a couple bad ones.

First one I called mom while at the bar with the boys. Lots of language and questionable conversational content. She listened for about 2 minutes.

The second one I called Grandma at 1:30 in the morning while out on 17th. Fortunately I hung up on her immediately (without knowing), only to have Grandma calling everyone we mutually know to make sure I wasn't in some life and death crisis in which I was calling for her help. She finally got ahold of me a half hour later, and I can't remember having to be so persuasive about anything as it was to explain to her that I was fine.

It was after that incident I got a flip phone. I have now gone 6 years of pocket-calling-free living.

My buddy was drunk once and pocket dialed my parents house. He had the number stored from when I lived there and my dad has the same name as me. My buddy noticed and decided to talk to my dad thinking it was me. My dad was terribly confused as to why my friend thought that my dad was his n-word. (Friend's black, dad is not.)

He has also pocket dialed my house while at my house.

I lock my Blackberry 99% of the time cause I've set up the convenience key to be "lock".

Only pocket dialed maybe once.

My Blackberry pocket dialed 911 a few times because even when it was locked it was still easy to activate "Emergency Mode" with a couple of button presses. I got calls from the operator and had to convince them I wasn't in danger. Very embarrassing.

Singing pocket dials are the hilarious! I once left a voicemail on my best friend's husband's cell of me singing along to Abba or something equally embarassing while driving. When he played it back for me I should've been embarassed, once I realized what I was hearing, but I thought it was so funny I could only manage to laugh at myself.

I search for my username every day to see if anyone is talking about me and this thread came up.

Unfortunately I don't have my own brand of phone so I don't know why you guys are mentioning getting a flip phone.

flip does have a phone but it is LG and not very nice.

My phone auto-locks the keys after 10 seconds or so. No pocket dialing from me

I'm simple.

Have a home no. and a cell no. just between me and my wife and the school and all that for communication.

Work wise .... they've got my home, after that .. zero.

Why do people put themselves in situations where they can be contacted??????

On topic, I've got an annoying flip phone that asks you do you want to lock the keypad every time you want to know the time.

Yep. Any decent phone should have a setting for that.

I've done this a few times myself. The operator sensed my confusion and asked whether I was talking on a Blackberry. When I confirmed her suspicions, she suggested I put the phone into standby mode when I pocketed it so I couldn't accidentally emergency dial. She then gave me step by step instructions for locking and putting the phone into standby. Clearly, not an uncommon occurrence.
