Default Normal number of Processes

Hey all,

So I'm a friggen noob when it comes to tech stuff, so it concerns me when I open up the task manager on my new laptop and see that there are 97 - 110 processes running at any given time.

Is this normal? It would sort of make sense to me that having so much crap running would be bogging the performance down. I don't demand a lot out of my computer so its probably not a concern, but it does annoy me.

Any chance I've got gremlins?

CGY

I've got a fresh install of Windows 7 with probably a dozen or so of new applications I've installed myself and I only have 38. Computer makers are notorious for installing a bunch of crap that they get paid for but you will probably never use.

Here's a page that discusses Bloatware although I'm not sure I'd trust their Decrapifier tool to clean your laptop up. I'd prefer to do it one feature at a time.
