NHL (X) Versus League
This will be the official thread for the second NHL10 league for the Xbox - this is not an EASHL league.
Activity in the first league is lagging, but the league remains active.

Also, please note that if you are inactive (and have not explained it) you will be booted from the league.
I will define "Inactive" as having played less than half as many games as the median user.

You forgot DoubleDion.
Is the old league getting deleted?
Why don't we keep that league and just kick out the ppl who haven't played any games? Or give them a deadline to play a game. Also give everyone deadlines that x amount of games need to be played by this point, and have multiple points set up throughout the year.

Activity in the league will be monitored. If players aren't playing then they'll get booted.
Especially for anyone who picked an elite team. If memory serves the first league had the Flames hardly ever playing. That's not fair to any Flame fan that settled for another team (which is pretty much the entire league).
Not to call out that user specifically, it's just a silly online game, but by that same token if someone isn't playing they shouldn't be upset if they get kicked from just a silly online game.
Is there an random list generator I can use to ensure fairness? I'm planning on just doing the draw at home during Wed's Flame's game but some transparency would be nice for whatever poor sap ends up with the last pick for the third straight draft.

Another couple notes/rules to have on the books before the draft:
If a player is booted from the league, current members will have the option to switch to the vacated team. The queue will be in the reverse order of this league's draft.
There will be cursory oversight of trades.
I'm thinking at least 5 game per opponent. Does anyone know if we can just "simulate outstanding games" at some point to tidy up any users that couldn't play each other?
How many games would you guys like? What was beta league 2 going to do? I found last league that all my convenient opponents were played through right away.

A couple thoughts...
If we boot a player for inactivity and allow another league player to switch teams, wouldn't that drastically alter the standings?
I guess to test it out we could boot someone from the old league and see how the standings work.
Also with booting someone in general, is one person got to play all their games against that person, and another never had an opportunity, then that person would have x more points at the end of the season.
Also I will put a vote in that we don't have trades in the game. Just play with the standard rosters, and that are provided & updated periodically.
5 is quite a few games. I would vote to stick to 3, possibly go 4 & then try and remember who played @ home each time. Keep it equal.
we could have a separate thread for games/standings to better keep track. Especially since it is hard to know who you are playing sometimes with different screen names. Just make it home teams responsibility to report to thread.

Valid concerns, but frankly I don't really care if the standings are skewed.

The game keeps the standings and as for home team - everyone can adjust their visual settings so there's no real advantage to being home.

Once you start the league the rosters are set, updates dont effect it, so I vote to keep trades
