most of the movies I would have listed have already been mentioned, but I will add Big Fish

Glad this one was mentioned - I loved this movie.

I'm going to... agree. Battle scenes were great. Story, plot, acting were not.

Pretty much every movie that Leonardo DiCaprio has done in the past 10 years.

I also loved Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Yup, count me on the group that doesn't like Gladiator; it's ridiculous that it won any major awards. That said, since this is about favorites rather than best films, I've got no real problem with people picking it here.

No offense, I bet you hear this a lot on CP, you can be kind of a goof when you post. And the funny thing is you'll be offended when you read this.

I don't know if I can come up with 10, but here's a few in no particular order:

No Country For Old Men - one of the best times I've had at the movies in years. I wanted to stand up and applaud. I waited a long time to see it and was not disappointed.

LOTR - I'll put all 3 here. Great movies, Jackson put on film what I saw in my head when I read the books so many years ago.

The Dark Knight - Another movie that lived up to the hype. So sad that we've lost the talent that was Heath Ledger, what a performance.

3:10 to Yuma - I love a good western, and this one was that and more. I echo Dis' sentiments that Ben Foster should have been awarded something for his portrayal.

Open Range - speaking of westerns, I loved this one, too. Great scenery, good story, terrific actors.

Inglorious Basterds - just for Christoph Waltz. Wow.

Dodgeball - just a great, goofy comedy. Vaughn cracks me up. Jason Bateman as the colour man is fantastic.

Snatch - great cast of characters with a fun storyline.

The Bourne movies - can't single out one, I liked them all. A renewed respect for Matt Damon after seeing these.

Only if you like lots of slow motion and over acting.

Pulp Fiction
Phantom of the Opera
Fight Club
Not even close to being in this decade. Christ, Reservoir is from 1992!!! Fight Club is from 99 though.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

The dude included several movies that I wouldn't put in my top 100 of the decade. So I said it was blasphemous. Also, a lot of posters have been pretty mean to Van just because he likes stuff like Transformers, so I made sure not to be a dick about the fact I think some of his taste in movies is...different than mine. I just didn't want him to think I'm one of the 50 people that has piled on him in the last year for his taste in movies.

Oh I hope that wasn't too goofy for you.

Oh my god I'm so offended. Some random poster said I'm goofy. ARGH. Well my week is shot. I better go back to bed and cry.

Great call. Sadly, this will be on no other lists. Most people haven't seen it. I think Costner is underrated. Seems to be one of those guys that it is popular to dislike.

I think your first post kinda contradicted what you were trying to say. You called my list blasphemous and then you went on to say how you like that it was a "favorite" list. So how is my list of my favorite movies blasphemous?? Doesn't make a lot of sense if you ask me. So not a big deal, but it kind of raised my eyebrows.

I think some the movies you posted aren't very good (hence the blasphemous part). I am glad that you said favorite because people often confuse what they like with what is actually generally considered good. The fact that you said favorite instead of best does not make them any less blasphemous to me but hey that is why it is called an opinion.

Can I not say that another person's opinion is blasphemous? It can't possibly have offended you could it?

This one deserved a mention... especially the Director's Cut which is an hour longer than the theatrical release and a much better movie.

Absolutely loved Gladiator, can watch it over and over. However I think a few on your list are garbage too (Planet Terror, Brokeback Mountain, Children of Men). To each his own.

No, not at all, but it just seemed interesting to me that.......you know what, not a big deal. End the discussion, so not worth it.

I know it is your opinion but I hope you realize that a lot of people really loved Gladiator. (8.3/10 on 247,235 ratings, #103 in top #250 movies all-time)

Mmmhmm

Which is why McDonalds is one of the best restaurants, Nickelback is some of the best music, CSI is the best TV show and the DaVinci code was one of the best books of all time.
