"V" TV remake
Hope this isn't a repost. Hard to search for a single letter.
So I've recently been seeing commercials for a remake of V, the miniseries from back in the 80's. I was a fan of the show back then but kind of find it hard to watch today. So any other fans from back then going to catch the TV series/mini-series (I'm not sure which it is???). It starts tomorrow (Nov.3). I'll watch but I'm bracing for a big letdown. Hope I'm wrong.

The only thing I remember from the original show is that the aliens used to eat mice. I remember being at school and kids would take the balogna out of their sandwiches say; "mousieeeee" and eat it. It was like grade 2 or something.
And also, Freddy Kruger was a good-guy alien in the original.

Stopped being lazy...
" Alan Tudyk as Dale Maddox (FBI investigator); Tudyk stars in the pilot episode, [5] but was not listed as a main cast member by ABC. "

I'll check it out but am not expecting much. The original miniseries was pretty good but when they made it into a weekly series it really started to suck. The critical response to the pilot episode (airing tomorrow) has been very positive, so here's hoping....

I do not know their 'real names', but Inara (like you mentioned) and Wash.
Edit: Morena Baccarin (Inara) and Alan Tudyk (Wash)

I really liked the original mini-series. I liked the TV series as a kid, but watching it again a few years ago I couldn't believe how bad it was. The new TV series has the potential to be either really good or truly awful - I guess I'll have to watch it to find out which.

V stands for Vancouver, a re-make of the gawdy Yellow/Black/Orange colors of yesteryear.

Critics have said this might be the best pilot....ever.
According to wikipedia, the plan is to have it air in "pods" so maybe 4-6 episodes at a time. I believe this first run will go for four weeks, then it will come back in the spring. They want to make this "event" TV.
I, for one, hope this works. As much praise as cable gets for producing superior television, it's a lot easier to be creative for 6,8,10,12 episodes a season instead of 24. Perhaps, this will force networks to realize that more isn't always better. ABC saw the results with LOST, here's hoping it continues.

I've got the PVR set. I've got all the old V stuff on DVD. It did have its cheese moments, but I have to say that of all the shows that I've watched on DVD "because I loved them when I was a kid", V was one of the few that actually held up. The rest - A-Team, Dukes, Greatest American Hero... every one of them I'm like, "How could I have ever watched this crap?"

V the miniseries was outstanding. I never watched the TV show, but the initial contact and how they set up the V gestapo and all that was awesome. I'm looking forward to the remake.
