Last time this thread came up someone suggested California Pizza on 11th St. I've since been able to confirm, it is in fact the best pizza in Calgary.

From someone who has only been in this city a little more than a year.
I have tried CocoBrooks - good. Best cookit yourself place plus its next to MemEx in the NE. Little pricey but very good.
Apart from that I havent found any place thats any good. Admittedly I dont want to blow $30 if its no good.
I reside in Sunnyside but if the pizza is good, I would go a good distance away to get it. I have tried CPU on 10th Street NW - worst episode ever.
And by episode I mean shinguards, dont ever call that pizza.
If you mention a pizza place, please post a website or phone number or at the very least location so I know what I am looking for.
PS. I am not looking for any veg/vegan garbage. If I wanted that I, well I wouldnt eat.

If you aren't a big fan of crust and cheese, I like Tom's. Lot's of toppings and several locations - Forest Lawn (17th Ave and ~28 ST), Centre ST and McKnight, Mcleod Tr and 78 Ave., Bridlewood (not sure of the street).

I was going to try Coco Brooks then a coworker bought a pizza and there were bible verses or the 10 commandments or something printed on the box... PASS.

they weren't Bible verses, they were 10 reasons to use Coco Brooks as a team fundraiser or something like that.

Hmm weird.. I didn't read it myself, I saw her bring in the pizza but was gone when they read the box.. Odd, but it would make sense as to why they aren't open on Sundays, but you may be right. I have no reason to not believe them though as they weren't overly impressed and after reading this on the coco brooks website it seems like it would make sense..
"Do you respect being closed on Sundays? (This is a corporate policy)" This was under opening a franchise..

I beg to differ. I've found some _amazing_ pizza places in Montreal; way better than anything I ever experience in Calgary. I found this place with amazing thin crust, European style pizza ... imo, simply can't be beat... to each his own though...

My usual favourite is Atlas Pizza on Memorial Drive N.E. and Madigan drive.
|
You needn't have even started this thread. Any and all "best pizza" discussions should begin and end with Atlas Pizza. I grew up in Marlborough Park and had the pleasure of eating that stuff early in life to now.
Since I've moved away from the NE years ago, I still have to go back there routinely.

The Mighty Zeuss w/banana peppers is unreal.
By far and away the best pizza in the city. In fact, it's 2 blocks fro my house and I'm going there right now.
