Falcons @ Saints tomorrow night should be a good divisional game. I do not have anything against either team. I suppose i'll cheer for Atlanta for selfish reasons (wanting to be the last unbeaten team). On top of that, an Atlanta win would make that division more interesting. Saints at home though have to be the favorites.

You don't think Favre draws people to the game?

I can think of about 8 other things I'd rather be doing on a Sunday night, besides sitting on my ass watching an NFL game... yet, I still watched tonight's game. You think I did it because I wanted to see what the grass looks like in Green Bay? I have friends who can't stand the NFL, but they've watched the Vikings every Sunday this season.

I don't get why people (like moon) are drawn to the negative side of everything. Is it really that difficult to look at the other side for once?

Man is Adrian Peterson good for the Vikings. He'd be in my top 3 players in the entire NFL at any position.
Well, I would guess it was a very emotional return for Favre for his first game ever in Green Bay as a visitor. He even admitted that he was feeling nervous and anxious for his return. And for him to play as well as he did, I think he was more than within his rights to celebrate the way he did.

I also like the fact that he is happy for his receivers, offensive line and others. Him and Berrian haven't been on the same page since game 1, so glad to see they are slowly getting there and are as happy as they were when they connected for that crucial TD.

See every week you sound like you are more and more bitter. I can't understand, do you have a #4 jersey? Did he crap on your lawn?

The attention on Favre is way too excessive that it even makes me queasy, but you continue being Debbie Downer while I'll be happy to be 7-1 with the QB with a massive ego.

rube, huge huge game by your Eagles today, I think everyone counted them out, including myself. But a massive win for that team to rise into the mix of things in the NFC East again.

Dis, sorry about your team. I thought Baltimore would take it, simply because they couldn't lose 4 in a row....and the bye helped them a ton in preparation for this game. Denver will rebound, I'm sure of it. I think there is a huge difference between Orton and Cutler when they are playing from behind.

As for the Vikings game, that Robinson fumble on the kickoff was a HUGE momentum switch, and changed the complextion of the game. Last week, that same moment came on that "tripping" call. But thankfully the defense stood tough when it needed to.
I really don't understand the conservative appraoach that Bevell takes with the offense sometimes....and then for Childress to say they need to be more agressive after half time. Makes me wonder...
HUGE stupid penatly on Jolly to keep that drive alive, early in the game.

And Percy Harvin is definatly making me eat my words....

Glad I could help hammer your point home!!

I'll be rooting for Atlanta tomorrow, so that maybe the Vikings can still have a shot at catching NO in the standings. It may be early, but every game counts.

And I really like the Atlanta team, or maybe just the Matt Ryan story. Can't really say I have anything against the Saints, still a huge fan of Mr. Sharper.

Can't wait to watch all the highlights of today's action! NFL Network FTW!!!

Will Witherspoon has saved their season, IMO. Best trade of the year so far. They still need to get better if they want to hang with New Orleans, but I'd rate them as probably the third best team in the NFC right now. The game next Sunday against Dallas will probably tell me exactly where they belong.

The NFC East is confusing this year. The only sure thing is that Washington sucks. Dallas has looked really good coming out of the bye, but they've played two teams with pretty poor defenses. The Giants have problems all over the place. All four teams are having problems running the ball, although the Eagles have been better since the Oakland debacle.

Truth be told, I think the Eagles take the division because their schedule is probably the most favourable.

Continue to be a debbie downer?

I have rarely talked about Favre at all, other than to give my opinion on the situation when it was warranted.

Someone else brought up his BS antics and I commented on it.

Do you disagree that the guy has a huge ego or that he doesn't like the publicity?

It isn't like he is the only guy I have talked about over celebrating everything as I hate when Gagner, for example, acts as though he scored the cup winning goal every time he scores his 8 goals a year.

Certainly don't have a 4 jersey as I hate the Packers more than the useless Vikings.

No shot at the super bowl again? I'm not a Vikings fan, but they're 7-1 and definitely going to have a shot at making a run in the playoffs.

Yes, you are a Debbie Downer, and I just found quotes regarding the Vikings, there were other nuggets about the Dolphins, the Jets and the Broncos.

Quote:
Bad call in the Pittsburgh game to over turn the catch but an even worse throw by Farve to take Rice out of bounds.
Oh wait, you mean the catch that was reviewed and called a legal catch with two feet inbounds?

Quote:
It isn't a game of taunting and cheap shots either.
You don't like over the top celebrations, personal opinion....but calling it taunting? Well that would result in a penalty on the field and/or possible calls from the league.
Quote:

Already touched on this.

So yes, I think this accurately shows my point. Either you do these things to get a rise out of people or you seriously hold some stellar grudges towards personal athletes. You act as if these guys have all personally done you wrong, and it's laughable. And your posts make you seem like a senile, cranky old man, like I've stated before in this thread.

Yes, Favre has an unreal ego and loves the attention. I'm pretty sure if you've read any of my posts about him, I'm not his biggest fan. But his play has certainly spoken about his desire to play and win. And after seeing the way he's taken some players under his wing (see: Harvin, Percy), it's a great thing to see. Did you see him on the sidelines today? Cheering the defense on, giving those players hugs and props....LOVE to see that kind of team player. And I'd take the guy over a ###### like TO any day. You didn't see Favre berate Sullivan for the bad snap, did you??

Sure he's a freaking drama queen every year, and has an oversized ego. But if this is the level he plays at, he can have that kind of ego and I would have no problem with it.

As for the useless Vikings, if 7-1 and useless....then I want them to be useless tits every year!! They are 1 of 2 teams that are the class of the NFC. Even with the useless QB and the taunting, cheap DE that you wouldn't take on your team.

I had a different opinion on a play that had to be reviewed and don't like tw players on the team and that makes me a Debbie Downer?

Whatever.

Useless in terms of making me bitter about them since they have done about zip to make me care about them one way or the other since they haven't won squat in so long.

They are obviously having a good start to the season this year.

I think there are 2-3 better teams in the NFC than them and a couple more in the AFC as well, so I don't like there chances.

I don't base chances on winning the Super Bowl on teams records in week 9 but rather on whether or not I think they can beat the other teams they have to play against.

So just to make sure I've got this correct.

7-1 start = No shot at the Super Bowl

That's your theory right?

I don't care that it's week 9, a team that opens up with a record like that and that has played a lot of great football has a shot at the Super Bowl. Anything can happen between now and then, but to say they have no shot is downright idiotic.

But, they haven't won anything ever, so...they suck. Useless 7-1 Vikings, almost equally as useless as those 6-1 Broncos.

Just pitiful teams.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion, you are no different. Just forgive me if I disagree and file it under bitter, senile old man.

I think the Vikings have a shot at getting to the big game. Realistically, around 8 or 9 teams have a shot at being in the Superbowl and the Vikings are one of those 8 or 9 teams.

Personally I would put them at #2 or #3 in the NFC and around #5 or #6 in the NFL. Top 5 or 6 in the NFL gives you a shot to get to the game (especially being #2 or #3 in the NFC).

Considering Favre's recent history and the fact that I don't think they have played a ton of great football no I don't think that they have a chance.

I think there are too many teams that can beat them for them to win.

Sorry I am supposed to go back and forth over your stupid view that I am a debbie downer.

Really that is what this thread needs?

What the heck does age have to do with anything I have said?

I am not old so it seems crazy that you continually bring it up.

So I've got the normal digital cable -- not the fancy HD stuff.

I just realized this week that channel 82 and 85 also air NFL games on Sunday; and different games than the usually offering on 3/12/22/27. Amazing!

Also: what happened to the Jints? And to think I picked against my Eagles and chose the Giants to win that game. Were they really overhyped from playing inferior teams? That whole NFC Easy pictures has me boggled.

Recent history?

2007....13-3
2008....9-7
2009....7-1 thus far.

That's 29-11. Pretty good numbers i would say.

Recent history of bad play later in the season.

When you get older the cold and all the hits you take are mucher harder to bounce back from.

Perhaps playing the Dome this year will help.

Ruff game for Broncos.

Not unexpected though. I am not as afraid of Pit as I was Baltimore, Bal has the much superior offence and currently Denver cannot win high scroing games when the other team has a good D. They need to bounce back quick with Pit at home next week.

vs Pit
@ Skins
vs SD
vs NYG
@ KC

Baltimore is a better offensive team now than I ever remember them, but I don't think they are "Much Superior" to Pittsburgh. In fact the Steelers receiver tandem of Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes in my opinion is much superior to the guys Baltimore has. Big Ben and Flacco are a wash to me. I'll give the Ravens offensive line the edge and Ray Rice over the Steelers backs, but those offences are close.

You should be wary of Pittsburgh coming off a bye. Denver does get the game at home which is an advantage for them, but make no mistake. Pittsburgh is a superior team to Baltimore.

Still the Broncos can go 4-1 against the teams on that list as the Skins are terrible, the Giants are over rated, and you never know what you're going to get with the Chargers.
