Default Robert The Bruce Statue At Jubilee

Does anyone know much about the replica of the Bannockburn Robert The Bruce statue just south of the Jubilee Auditorium? I've long been fascinated by this piece of history, and I find it curious that a replica of the Bannockburn statue of The Bruce stands at the Jube. I've never been able to discover much about it beyond the basic facts like who the sculptor was, the date of dedication, etc. Who financed it? Why is there? Does anyone know?

Robert the Bruce!

I'm part of his lineage. Not sure how many "great's" I'd put in before the word grandson though.

Anyone want some freedom???

It wasn't the same time period. It dealt with the Jacobite plot. And it had Liam Neeson, who I really like as an actor. I thought it was more artistic integrity than Braveheart, but Braveheart was way more epic. Braveheart was more of a Hollywood blockbuster style.

Quite a few "greats" ... that was about 700 years ago. That's pretty cool though.

I'm descended from a bunch of Russian-German turnip farmers and some French guildsmen. Rather mundane and blue collar, although my French lineage does include some Parisian brothel madames and an internationally renown chocolatier in more recent times. Leave it to the French to excel at sex and candy eh.
