Seriously? I saw it advertised in the Best Buy flyer this morning, so I had to check it out online. Anyone planning on picking this up?
I can't see myself buying it.

looks pretty dumb to me. all it really is is a track pack. doesn't seem to offer anything new.

If they had a Kanye cheat that interrupts swift I would think about buying it. Other than that no.

They are hitting a different area than Rock Band that is for sure.. I love the Ben Harper and Everclear.. but other than that I have no interest in playing it.
I imagine it will do decent just based on the wide variety of songs, I also like the "Request a Song" feature on the website.
However I am pretty sure there is over 15,000 songs worth of DLC for Rockband already..

i think you might have an extra 0 there GL.
but you are right. rock band kills them in DLC. which i much prefer. i can get only the songs i enjoy that way. with GH and their various other games, they try their hardest to just get as much money as possible.
while i realize all companies aim to make money, the GH model is very good for the company. the RB model is very good for the consumer.

Right I wasn't really giving an exact number just exaggerating for dramatic effect.. I knew it was high but also knew it wasn't that high
Point being, I agree with you and although this would be fun for the girls, I still am just a rock fan not a pop fan.

yeah, i give credit to them for being able to market this genre of games to a different demographic. i am sure the pop music will help hook the younger kids.
though i have read lots of articles saying this stuff has peaked and they need to come up with something new or else just putting out new songs will get stale.
and about the number, i think the real number is somewhere around 1500 so thats why i thought maybe it was just a typo. i know for sure they hit 1000 a while back. not sure how high they are though.

I don't know about smart marketing. They're definitely going for a different target market, but the only place I've seen this game mentioned is in the tech section of a hockey board. Too early to tell.

You can get Spongebob DLC for Rock Band and that's a big hook for the younger kids.

yeah thats a good point. certainly valid.
but i will say this: the beatles folks most likely would not have let the project get off the ground if it wasn't a stand alone game. i am not saying rock bands folks are saints by any means, but i doubt they had much choice in the matter.

Only worth buying if the tracks are exportable into another platform.
