The Liberals are idiots.
P.S. Its not against the rules to call members of a political party a nasty name is it?

This, coupled with Hedy Fry's idiotic comment that politicians should get special treatment and get the vaccine before anyone else, is sure to send the Liberal poll results soaring.
Just when you thought they couldn't get stupider, they go and prove you wrong.

I realise that its a provincial issue and the provincial Liberals have also come out an criticized whats been done in Alberta (you may have noticed that in the other thread between you condemning others to burn in hell or die? )
I'm sure that my liberal positions make me extremely popular on this board. I'm a big boy and lots of my friends make fun of my political leanings. If you feel the need to call me names I don't have problem with that at all. Its actually quite amusing!

Weird. 99% of the arguments on here pose no real solutions!! Most oppositions give no real credible solution and if they do its enacted as policy.
Lets face it if the Liberals came out today and said here is a plan to get this done perfectly and it made perfect sense two things would happen:
A) Albertans would roundly criticize it as a scheme to transfer more money east, steal provincial powers and of course cost too much money!
B) The other parties discuss this behind closed doors and it quickly becomes government policy.
(I'm only serious about point B) People should realise that a lot of question period and things like that are basically staged. The decisions are made in meetings away from the house and issues are debated there as well. More often than not the same question (less the grandstanding on both sides) has been asked and answered outside the commons.

And there's the crux of it. Are the Liberals more interested in moving Canada forward or are they just interested in gaining power?
If they want to move Canada forward, there is no problem with proposing credible solutions. They may not get credit for it, but the country is better for it.
If all they want is power, then they can be the arm chair quarterback and criticize without any idea of what they would do or what would be better... and rightfully be called out for it.

That's really all this is. Grandstanding. It just looks extremely bad on Rae by picking an issue in which even Canada's All-time leader in Baseless Grandstanding , Jack Layton, holds restraint over.

Yes because Albertan's are such closed minded bigots, we'd be totally against an idea that would make the innoculation of people against the flu because of our hatred of the Liberal's and Eastern Canada. Die you s die . . . bwahahahaha . . . come on boys get the rifles out we needs to guard the border against the flue infested zombies comin a west to eat our brains and rape our woman.

Now you are exaggerating (for effect I assume... as most politicians seem to do on a daily basis).
As for quasi calling you a name... it was done "tongue in cheek" (in response to the other thread on name calling). Frankly, IMHO, most of your opinions are very well thought out and articulated. I enjoy reading what you post, regarding politics, even though I don't agree with most of it. I suspect though, as you grow older and more mature, you will eventually see the light and come on over from the dark side.

You can change that statement to the name of ANY opposition part, be they Liberal, CPC, PC, Alliance, Reform, NDP, So Cred, etc
Politics is so hypocritical it is really disheartening.

I guess I was exaggerating for effect, but mainly because that other thread is hilarious. I'm not a politician...be realistic! With my liberal views I'm virtually unelectable out here!

Isn't it pertty similar to a lot of the arguments on the main H1N1 thread? Calling people murderers or blaming them for causing deaths because they don't get vaccinated is pretty much the same over the top argument Rae is using to blame deaths on the Conservatives for not vaccinating people quickly enough.

While I agree that this arguement is pretty silly on the federal level, (I mean how can the government make the development go any faster?) I do think the provincial government has screwed up ROYALLY here in Alberta. 4 and a half clinics in Calgary? That's delaying things more than anything.
The stupid thing is that a little extra money up front for projects like this, saves lots more money and lost income down the road. Heck, I heard stories that the lost wages on the first day alone could have paid for a few extra clinics being open.
Either this is a colossal failure on the Stelmach government, or it just goes to show maybe we need to suck it up and put a little bit more back into health care. Whether that means AHC fees again, or what, I dunno.

I would happily resume paying AHC fees in order to correct the woeful state of our provincial health care. I have family members in the medical sector, and the reality is that this administration has simply cut too close to the bone. The (mis?)handling of the H1N1 vaccine is only the latest in a string of snafus for these guys. Cost cutting measures are a fact of life in big business, but start doing it with medicare and you're playing with lives. I'm a die-hard conservative, and I'm not impressed at all with the Stelmach government.
