Exactly! In fact, I'm not even sure I want RuddStud in my neighbourhood!

Would never want to live in the "LAWN" anyway, thanks though... How do you fit all one hundred guests into your trailer anyways? Maybe you could pack them all in, lock the trailer door and just pull away once everyone is smashed on your cheap beer, delivering everyone home safe and sound.

Good luck with your party, maybe a phone call from the street, "from a pi$$ed off neighbour" might solve the getting home safe thing.... It would really suck if the party had to end early due to noise bylaws..... (NOISE BYLAWS, lets discuss the legality of this now!!!!) LOL

What a gong show of a thread.

Kudos to the OP for providing a great service to his party guests. I would rather read about someone's insurance not covering an accident due to this on the news, than read about a few people dying in Calgary on Halloween night for driving drunk...

I'd actually love to hear about this transport car going through a Checkstop Saturday night. I bet the cop shakes the drivers hand for doing such a service.

I'm pretty sure my old Torts professor would say "don't do this".

All the good intentions in the world are cold comfort if the driver gets in an accident.

Have everyone who gets in the car to sign a waiver.

Or whatever about renting a van from budget for the night. It couldn't add more than $60 to your party costs.

I can't imagine judging how much fun someone would be at a party based solely on how they posted in this thread.

I appreciate that fact. And if you notice, I gave you props for going the extra mile and proving people with a safe way to get home. I only cautioned you (as have others) that doing such a thing can land you in a bad situation, that's all.

Myself, I've always believed in personally responsibility. If I go to a party and fully intend to get drunk, I will make sure I don't drive. I will either arrange with a friend to drive me home, I'll take mass transit if possible, I'll walk if it's not to far, whatever I need to do. I will be responsible for my own transportation. And I don't know about anyone else, but getting into a car with someone I don't know that is not licensed or insured to drive people around (unlike a commercial service) doesn't seem like the greatest idea.

Those are my observations, people can feel free to disagree but don't get all militant because I or someone else has a differing opinion. (not directed at anyone in particular)

Actually I have a buddy that works in the claims department as an adjuster at ING (now Intact) and I was talking to him today and asked him how they would handle it and he said that this situation would be fine. It would have to be demonstrated in court that there was a pattern to this arrangement and as there is no pattern to this it would be covered. It is a temporary arrangement and not a regular business arrangement and the money being exchanged could be seen as tips. BTW if I was at a party I would find this topic engaging You can't talk about the Flames all the time...http://www.songlyrics.com/classified...k-mind-lyrics/
