Just saw the preview to Michael Oehr's life story. That'll be a tear jerker for sure. The Blind Side...coming soon to a theater near you.

haha Thats why I love gambling on a Monday Night Football game. The over under was done, the point spread was done with but the Redskins punch in a late touchdown and go over the 15.5 points. What a rush

Awful game though

Edit: Never mind saw the over under was 37 man does that hurt. Redskins defense sure looked good at least besides a few big plays

What is up with Larry Johnson and the Chiefs regarding his twitter account/racial slurs. It opened as the top story on ESPN. Just get him a soother, problem solved ESPN.

The guy is poison. I seriously see prison in his future. He doesn't get it at all....he had all the advantages growing up too.

I posted this way back in April during the draft thread.

Just an awesome story.

Was it a racial slur, or was it the use of the word "gay" as a homophobic slur that was the issue? Either way he's a brutal guy to have on that team and as long as they have him they'll be losers.

I'm absolutely choked that the Chiefs from a football perspective decided to pay a running back who'd been used as much as Johnson had the previous two seasons when they did. Every bit of evidence you could find suggested he'd been used and he'd only go down hill afterwards. Than factor in his horrible personality. Than that idiot Carl Peterson goes and trades Jared Allen a year later because he's afraid he'll turn into another Larry Johnson. Even though Allen had taken strides to clean himself up, and from a football perspective...you could count on 3-4 more good productive seasons from him. Dumb, dumb, DUMB!!

Todd Haley's play calling is a bit head scratching and right now he's in way over his head as coach and OC. But Larry Johnson proved last year how much of a true loser he really is and the Chiefs need to cut bait here.

Johnson also told reporters yesterday to get their "_aggity asses out of here" when asked about his comments about Haley on his twitter account.

For those not in the know, Johnson posted on Twitter something along the lines, "in high school my dad played for the coach from Remember the Titans, coach played golf. My dad played briefly for the Skins, coach? Nothing.". Then when other twitter users started to tweet negative tweets back at LJ he tweeted a homophobic slur that rhymes with bag and bragged about how much money he has.

A lot of Chiefs fans are disgusted with LJ and rightly so. Most feel he should be cut or deactivated since he is so close to the Chiefs all time rushing record.

LJ's comments have given the green light for the KC media to really start questioning Todd Haley's ability to be a head coach in the NFL. He never played football at any level, and only got into coaching in his late 20's. His abrasive approach with his players looks to have really rubbed most of them the wrong way and it shows on the football field. I think he really sealed his fate during the preseason when he fired OC Chain Gailey and decided as a rookie head coach to be the QB coach and OC at the same time. Lets face it, he wasn't on any body's coaching radar until the Cards made the Super Bowl. Then Pioli hires him since he is the flavor of the month. It will be interesting to see if Haley gets canned immediately after the Chiefs go 1-15. Or if Pioli will stick with him for another season.

The funny thing is LJ wanted a trade this offseason, and not one NFL team wanted anything to do with him. Get rid of him, no way I want to see his name on a Chiefs record ahead of Priest Holmes. Meet your newest Toronto Argonaut, Larry Johnson.

His contract makes him untradable.

His attitude doesn't help either. But if someone could get him without that contract he'd probably get another chance....and subsequently burn that up within a year.

Bullying, spitting on and throwing a drink in the face of women should have landed him in the slammer for a few months. I don't think we'll have to wait long before we see him being arrested for domestic assault.

LJ is one of the worst NFL professionals in the league.

The KC Stars Jason Whitlock thinks LJ is the best thing to happen to Pioli and Haley.

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chi...y/1531827.html

Quote:
There’s no way I release Larry Johnson. No way.
He’s Scott Pioli’s and Todd Haley’s most valuable player.
Within hours of the Chiefs turning in a Three Stoogeslike performance that called into question Haley’s competency to lead an NFL team and Pioli’s sanity as it relates to Matt Cassel, Larry Johnson created a distraction that took the spotlight off KC’s rookie coach and GM.
Hell, I’d give Johnson a bonus, a laptop to carry to practice and the green light to tweet 24/7.
Short of Michael Jackson returning from the grave and announcing he’d sing the national anthem at the Chiefs’ next home game, LJ’s tweet smack talk and locker-room F-bomb are the best thing that could happen to Pioli and Haley this week.
Quote:
I say hold on to Johnson until the end of the season, use him for what he has left to offer. He’s an excuse, a major distraction and a glaring example of Carl Peterson’s ineptitude.
Quote:
Now that we’re seven games into this season, Haley and Pioli both need Larry hanging around as a reminder to fans and Clark Hunt that Peterson created this 2009 mess. Larry is a massive billboard who screams: “King Carl Did This.”
I’d keep Larry at starting tailback and make him run the ball 20 times a game. Can you think of a worse punishment? You can’t trade him. You might as well let opposing linebackers light him up 20 times a week.
For the remaining home games, I’d run Jared Allen’s Minnesota Vikings highlights on the Jumbotron, too.
Carl Peterson had a choice between Larry Johnson and Jared Allen. Peterson decided Allen’s drinking was a bigger risk than Johnson’s mood swings.
If the Chiefs release LJ, the media are going to go back to focusing on Haley and Pioli. We’re going to go back to the 22-guys-off-the-street countdown. Will Haley make it to three victories? Did Pioli’s media tactics and insider trading with his New England homeboys and father-in-law contribute to a winning environment?

I don't understand Larry's bringing up of his father's credentials. Has his dad been trying to land an NFL job? The guy's a great college coach and one that Paterno obviously values highly, but I don't recall ever hearing his name in association with any potential NFL job.

I hope that the Chiefs do the right thing and cut him before he picks up another 75 yds and the alltime rushing lead in KC.

According to his agent it was a tribute to his father and not a slight on Haley. I think it was just his way of saying Todd Haley is not an NFL Head Coach. From what I have seen so far, I can't disagree with him. I wasn't wild about the hiring back in February.

I'm less than enthused about Haley as coach too. But it's clear Larry Johnson has to go. Vermeil had issues with him, Edwards had issues with him and to no ones surprise Haley now has them. Fact is Johnson is a grade A Knucklehead who'll be flat broke by the time he's 35 and I wouldn't be surprised to read about him being dead before he's 40 by his own doing.

Johnson's agent is trying to save face for his client with the only NFL team willing to keep him around because he knows NFL teams don't think his client is worth the paper his contract is printed on.

You can keep hating on Pioli and Haley.....but I want Johnson out of town long before either of those two.

Suspended indefinitely.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/27/chie...-indefinitely/

“First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday,” the statement read. ”I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate.
“I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said. I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them.
“I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate, and member of the Kansas City Chiefs team and community.”

This is the same one he used last year. I guess when you've had as many issues as Johnson you can keep recylcling the same insincere crap.

Good riddance, try and save a buck, and make an effort to live to the age of 70 LJ!

According to Kent Babb of the KC Star on Twitter, "LJ has been asked by the Chiefs to not participate in team activities until further notice. Not a suspension, but not with the team."

Personally, I don't see the sense in keeping LJ around. Unless it is to deflect the negativity like Whitlock mentioned. In all seriousness though, I don't know why they didn't just cut him when he was having issues last season.

Chiefs have a presser scheduled 8 minutes from now. NFL network will cover live if you're lucky enough to get the channel.
