C'mon. Other than the NEP Trudeau was probably the best PM this country has seen in the last 50 years. I guess Pearson could give him a run for his money. Other than that no PM since Trudeau has been close.

sorry didn't want to derail but that is a crazy statement.

That being said, for all the bad the NEP did for Alberta it doesn't change all the rest of the stuff he did for Canada. Taints it a bit, sure, but doesn't make it all non-existent.

Would you stop debbie downing this god damn thread?! It's a very simple thread.."You haven't lived in Calgary until you've...", and then posters fill in their ideas. Not "You haven't lived in Calgary until you've....and then Flip will provide a rebuttle to your idea".

You're totally killing the good vibes in this thread.

You haven't lived in Calgary until you've been completely and utterly owned on CP by a poster who is better at being more on topic that you are.

Don't worry it was just a minor ribbing. I just made it sound harsh because you are known for taking things personally on CP.

Get back on topic or I'll kick you in the nuts.

You haven't lived in Calgary until you've been on the platform running for the train, the train driver clearly sees you, the "open door" light is still on and then at the last second just when you are about to hit the button the ahole train driver leaves the station just because he's a dick.

Allow me to fix this for you.

-BSD at the UofC, start drinking at 6:30 when a guy with bagpipes walks through the entire rez building, get falling down drunk by 10, get in the beer gardens as soon as they open, stay until they close, then go back to rez, realize you're too drunk to function, pass out from 5-9, wake up, decide it's a good idea to go downtown, not get let in because you're still wearing shorts and a t-shirt covered in random scribbles from people, come back, wait for the people at the bar to return, then party till 3 in the morning, whilst being incredibly hungover.

Principal: Mr. Madison, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Billy Madison: Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.

Well done!
I forgot to add to mine that my cousin and i also somehow ended up on the cover the UofC year book that year thanks to a picture taken that day at some point whilst completely smashed....never spent a day of my life in that particular school other than to get ridiculously drunk on BSD or at the Den.

...decided that the absolute optimal time to go away on vacation is the first week of July.

...lamented the number of people from Saskatchewan who live in Calgary. Probably to your high school buddy who still lives back in S'toon or Speedy Creek.

...developed a weird habit of not inhaling as you hurry through underpasses.

...heard the word "Longview", and the first thing it made you think of is remembering to slow down so you don't get a ticket. Then you remember when the sign on the hill read "Bongview", and you laugh.

...given up on going camping on May 2-4.
