Horrible Ticket Exchange Experience.. Sellers Beware!!!
I posted tickets for sale in the forum ( http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=80934) for The game tonight. They were pretty good seats at a good deal. However it got late and didnt have any takers. At 6:21 pm user, To_be_Quite_Honest, pmd to let me know he would take them and was heading downtown. I called my mother in law who then got in contact with said member to work out where they would meet. My mother in law said when she talked to him she told him 10-15 minutes. They exchanged car and meet place info. However my Mother in law gets there and calls him. To_be_Quite_Honest the calls back and lets her know he doesnt need her tickets he just bought some other ones. Told her "she could sell them on the bridge" or something a long those lines.
* also this was told to me second hand so I just got one side. However My mother in law is an upstanding person and I have no reason to think she would lie.
However I am not mad he bought other tickets but I am mad the way he went about things and wasted time. This in my opinion is wrong and should be frowned upon by this community. Ticket exchange works great and is a good way for people to see the games. I am sorry if this is the wrong forum or isn't allowed. I suggest you be careful in dealing with this member in the future. I would hate for you to get hosed in the same way!

To_be_Quite_Honest is a self centered jerk and owes your mother in law an apology. Said poster put her in a difficult position.
Hopefully others selling tickets on this forum takes note of To_be_Quite_Honest's actions.

To be quite honest that's horrible. Did she find a buyer for them eventually?

NO , she called me and was upset and heading home. I didnt catch exactly where they were meeting but I am sure it wasnt in the dome parking lot so she prob didnt want to get out an fight the crowd. She prob could have sold them but that is not the point .....
I didnt get everything because she was calling me in the states from her cell which is quite costly on her plan. I am sure I will hear more when she gets to her house and phones.

Dude that sucks. I've always thought we should have a thread where good and bad transactions can be noted. Then buyers/sellers could build a reputation and people could know who they are dealing with.

I love the Ticket Exchange. A thousand thanks to all the posters I've dealt with. Nothing but smooth sailing.

That's too bad nickerjones.
I've had people back out on me on CP before too. I was always able to resell them, so it wasn't as bad as your situation, but it was definitely frustrating. However, the hassle I have had has lead me to not sell tickets on CP anymore. I've found other avenues that are more reliable. And when I am desperate, I just put them on eBay the day before with a 24 hour auction.

Hey look at that... We agree on something
I think this is an awesome idea. There is nothing worse than thinking you either have bought or sold tickets to have the transaction fall through because of something like this.
I once had an bad experiance on here buying tickets, I won't mention the member though.
I had arranged to purchase tickets from a member of this forum and was on my to meet them in person when he called and said that he had just solf them to his brother!! Why agree to sell me the tix if you are still trying to hook up friends or family.
I was pissed since my wife and I had already arranged "because of good faith" a babysitter for the game and were almost at the dome to meet the guy and buy the tickets.
There definitaly should be a buyer/seller rating system.

Agreed. As someone who has sold a number of tickets on the site I've had nothing but thumbs up for all the buyers, even the out of town buyers made for a painless transaction. I am expecting this to be an isolated incident and hope the mods recognize it as such. This sub forum is great to ensure quality Flames fans are attending games.
There is a watch forum I frequent and they have a thread for posting buying/selling experiences. Might be something to have in general, not just tickets.

I've had good experiences for the most part. The only bad one was when I bought bleeders recently and we were right behind a friggin camera the whole game. Stuff like that should be noted.
For the most part, I've had really good transactions on CP and this is basically the life-blood of where I get tickets throughout the season. Kudos to the mod team for having great regulations in place regarding prices etc.

I'm curious why someone who wants a buying/selling report system would not say who did the exact same thing to them?
I have never bought something from here but I'm surprised they haven't found a way to keep track of this.

The Flames should have a ticket exchange for their season ticket holders. It would make things a lot easier.

There are a few teams that I follow that have ticket exchanges (Suns, Broncos). The bad part of this is that it's very similar to StubHub. Prices are well above face value. I've had some great buying and selling experiences with a number of members (Ace, gobsgraham, Biff to name a few) without any problem.
Agreed that a buy/sell rating system or sticky with a list of undesireable buy/sell members should be started.

There are two sides to every story. So it would be hard in a case like the OP to tell who was right and who was wrong. Its a case of he said, she said. When you exchange tickets on CP you are going on the good faith of the other individual. As far as I can tell there is no repercussion to either party except for the possibility of banishment from CP if things don't work out.

I am not looking for a ban.... I was telling my story for the benefit of the other great people on here who sell tickets. If there is any kind of ban , he should not be able to view ticket exchange and have the chance of purchasing tickets. I do think there should be a feedback or trader rating system in April of 2008 in this thread http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=57531
However it was shot down by not 1 but 2 mods!
ANd Yes burn baby there are 2 sides to every story , I mentioned that. I dont think my mother in law would make this up because she wanted to sell the tickets. They were face value of 157 bucks and she was selling them for 90 bucks a ticket. So she wanted to get rid of them, she talked to the guy 15 min prior and he was all for it
