Bill Cosby Embraces His Inner Gangster
Okay.. maybe not quite.. but he is releasing a rap album!
http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2009/...new-rap-album/
Quote:
Comedian Bill Cosby is taking a new approach to reaching out to inner city youth. The noted jazz lover is releasing a rap album.
Cosby and former music director of “The Cosby Show” William Patterson produced the album, entitled “Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency.” We don’t quite know what “Cosnarati” means exactly, but we do know Cosby himself won’t be rapping on the album. Instead, the album will feature three guest rappers — Jace the Great, Brother Hahz and Super Nova Slam — and 14 tracks, all of which will touch on issues that concern young people. Cosby came up with the topics for each of the songs, according to the project’s publicist.

this is going to end up being the unholy hybrid of a William Shatner album and Mr. T's rap album from the early '80s

I've not heard that one. I'm more familiar with the early 70's stuff; as music it's putrid, but as comedy it's pure gold.

I just can't see Cosby doing rap. I've always looked at him as a funny guy who had the gift of making people laugh.

Cosby isn't actually rapping. It would be hilarious if he did.

This is exactly what the world needs, a 72-year-old comedian who likes sweaters and Jell-O pudding writing rap songs for young people.

Just listened to the Has Been album. I really liked it. Well produced, and, in a spoken word kind of way, Shatner is quite a good performer.
