The movie is called waydowntown, and it is indeed about a group of friends who bet each other a months salary to see who can go the longest without setting foot outside. Typical indy film, but it's an interesting way to kill a couple hours if you can find it. My roommate at the time was a bike courier and ended up getting into the completed film after he inadvertently walked through the area where they were filming in TD Square.

I've done this on many occasions and I've never resided in Calgary. Hell, I've gone a lot further than 6 or 7 blocks!

Got ridiculously poor service at restaurants/fast food outlets compared to Edmonton yet paid at least 30% more at those restaurants.
Went to Cowboys to find out the women have large guns but other than that are only paper bag worthy.
Go to a grocery store durring a busy time only to see they have more self service checkouts open than staffed tills.
