Can't sim games today - roster issues
Folks - I can't sim today because a team doesn't have enough players due to an injury.
I can appreciate that the sim is putting more injuries in the AHL but in this case the team is running with the bare minimum number of forwards and defensemen at both the CPHL and AHL level. That means they can't withstand even a single injury at either level. Right now they have a dman out which means the software won't allow me to sim at all. And I can't even move a forward to defense because then the same team will be short up front.
So I'm stuck. The only alternative is to make the injured player healthy manually but since they are a bubble CPHLer and current NHLer that doesn't seem fair.
We need people to start managing their rosters more carefully. This is part of the game. Injuries are part of the game. Teams should be built to withstand a couple injuries. If a team has a real bad run where 4 or 5 guys are out we will step in and do something to help them. But one injury shouldn't cause this.
So for today - no games.
In a related note - someone trade Philly a blueliner so we can have games tomorrow.

Seriously thats brutal. Jeff and Grant are very generous taking time to SIM these games and a team doesn't put in an effort to put out a minimum roster? Especially a team who spends that much time trashing everyone else.

I wouldn't even bother asking you, everyone on your roster will supposedly be a superstar one day, I dont have assets to acquire those future HOFers.

Grant, or any of the simmers, question for you.
Based on your experiences on the other side of the sim this season, if we have people injured, CPHL or AHL:
a) They have to go on IR, no matter how long they are injured, correct?
b) If we are not playing on any specific day, does the sim halt games if our lineups aren't correct, or is it just teams playing?
If we're not playing, but we have roster issues, I'm wondering if we still have to send in lines to appease the sim.
I don't think it's been an issue in the other league I'm in using this sim, but you never know.

Maybe you should quit hacking up folks and accept some responsibility for being a ###### here? You wasted a fair bit of Grants time today and here you are acting like a total arse...
No wonder everyone is blackballing you right now. I'd say everyone should keep it up, and barrage you with low ball offers and give you no other option to avoid fines, and delay simming.

Yup stupid that this had to happen, the warning is out to everyone in the league, actually carry some extra roster players. And Philly should just man up, apologize and fix the situation, seems like a very easy problem to solve...

CPHL players MUST go to IR. AHL we don't care as much about as long as teams can ice complete AHL lineups.
The sim only doesn't work if a team actually playing doesn't have a complete lineup.

I'm not trying to pile on but.........seriously what is your deal? I know you think it's cool to try and make fun of other GM's(I know in some cases its just friendly trash talking), but beyond that you don't even apologize for causing a delay. Nobody is entirely blaming you for what happened and yet you come straight into this thread and cut other people up. I don't care that you didn't have a full roster available. Grant, Kris, and Jeff are understanding and so are the rest of the GM's for the most part. You are an active GM so nobody will overly care. What I do care about is showing no responsibility and then having the nerve to bash other people.
Spike may win those trophies from time to time, but atleast he can dress a full roster.

Damn, Syl not happy, better start looking for a new Oilers GM, he should be quitting any minute now.
ps - I don't need to tell you anything, I've talked to the ppl that are in charge, I could care less what you think.

To take some of the pressure off...I caused some chaos yesterday with my lines. I'm sure Jeff wasn't impressed, because I gave him a lot of extra work .
But I did learn a tidbit that I didn't notice on the SIM before. There's that little link you can click on, and it'll tell you what problems you are having with your roster (eg. if you don't have enough skaters dressed, if you don't have enough RWs). It will tell you exactly how many more you need and what else you need to do to complete your roster both CPHL and AHL.
I'm sure everyone already knew this, but I thought I would pass it on to those who didn't realize it was there (like me... ).

Answers;
(a) CPHLers have to go on the IR if they are injured. AHLers do not.
(b) If a team has roster issues and is not involved in any game that is being simmed, the sim will allow the games to be done.
Typical issues I have seen....
Teams have not had 4 LW / 4 RW / 4 C .... (this happens almost everyday... especially at the AHL level).
GMs really need to watch their AHL teams health. Move players around so they don't get tired (i.e. change your lines around). If you play 3 or 4 games in a row your AHLers will get tired really fast.
Its really important to have depth at CPHL and AHL level......

Checks to see if it's a full moon.
So, you screw up your lines... take shots at everyone but yourself... and call out an 'elder statesman' of the league...
Yeah, that's probably the best way to deal with it.
