Sure, and then he'd do the responsible thing and get a job as a gas jockey to support the family, instead of becoming an evil mastermind.
Next thing you know, you live in a condemned apartment block with no running water or heat, Bill takes up huffing unleaded, and comes home every night stoned out of his skull and crying "where did it all go wrong? what happened? I coulda been somebody - I coulda been a contender!"

Meanwhile, a less distracted Buzzard starts a little software company out of his garage...

You're doing it wrong..
I would go back to the 80s and impersonate Lars Ulrich, so that I end up being the drummer for Metallica.

No, no, you get to MODIFY the chronovisor so you can use it to go through time. Extra points for either knowing what it is, or following the link, though.

Yes, but the only reason to go forward is curiousity - there isn't really much point unless you're going to gather information to then bring back with you to enhance your personal situation in the future or otherwise change the course of things to come.
What fun is technology if you can't use it to carry out your nefarious schemes?

As cheesy as it sounds, I would probably go back about 5 years so I could spend more time with my grandpa before he died. He lived in Halifax, so I'd usually only see him once or twice a year, and as I got older it seemed like the visits became less frequent. I'd go back and spend as much time with him as I could.
He was probably the smartest and most kind person I've ever known, and I bet if I got to spend more time with him it would make me a better person too. Plus, he was an amazing artist so I would love to be able to go back and paint with him.
Also, if I could go back in time I would go to his funeral. I was unable to make it to his funeral when he passed because Jewish funerals usually take place before sundown the next day and I couldn't get there in time. I never really had that element of closure when he passed away, so sometimes it doesn't even seem real.

I'd go to the future to steal lots of money then come back to the past and round up all my favorite ex-girlfriends at 17 years old and pay them whatever it took to have like a 10 on 1 orgy.

That's hardly cheesy. I admire the honesty. Grandparents are special.

I have dreamed about this quite a bit lately. I'd go back to the morning of May 3rd 2009 and take my wife to the hospital to be induced so that I'd have my daughter today.

If we're being honest, I wouldn't time travel. I'm not taking the chance of losing my kids. If anything changed in the past, I don't like my chances of the stars aligning to produce the same two sons I have now, let alone screwing up and not marrying my wife.
I guess I would bring them along for the ride and go to the future. Family road trip to 50 years from now. Then we can bring back the almanac and get rich together.

Oh well, if that's the case, I'd go back to yesterday morning and watch Megan Fox getting dressed . . . . .
No, wait, I changed my mind . . . . . I'd go back 150,000 years in time and greet Admiral Adama when he lands on Earth.

I would probably just travel back in time to very notable historic events and check them out first hand. All the while trying to limit my interaction with people around me.
Things I would want to see (incoming war junkie alert):
-Ancient battles galore (Greeks, Persians, Mongols, Europe)
-Find out if the Chinese did indeed sail all over the wold back before Columbus
-See that giant comet/meteor that almost flattened Siberia
-Wright Brothers first flight
-WWII battles (D-Day, Pearl Harbour, Midway, Battle of the Bulge, Stalingrad, etc)
Then I'd make myself rich after seeing all this cool stuff, with no worries about screwing up the timeline since I saw what I wanted.

I would go back to when I was 18, and join the military. And then knowing all of the mistakes I made since I was 18, I'd stop myself from committing them again.
