But, yeah, originally I assumed it was a puck bunny with a crush on Phaneuf. Once I figured out (s)he was a Nucks fan, I rethought things.

At this point, I think it's a dude unwilling to acknowledge his crush on Phaneuf, but still, if you have a girl's name, I assume you're a girl, until you prove otherwise.

Kind of back on topic, how did a SNES fan like you wind up here? I've understood the oiler and canuck fans, but kind of lost how you found this place.

There was a time when I went to most of the large forums for all the NHL teams. I liked getting different perspectives on the league.

Then HFBoards went into the crapper and another board I frequented died, there were not many options. The biggest Senators board was a joke since it was being moderated by a Leafs fan.

I liked the community feel of the place and had sort of been intrigued by Calgary because it's a similar sized city to Ottawa with a lot in common such as being white collar, affluent and well educated but it has a completely different feel to it as I found out when I spent a couple months there on business. I'd even contemplated moving there because there's a lot more demand for my skills there than in Ottawa. If I had to move out of Ottawa, Calgary would be my first choice in where I'd want to move.

Basically, I like Calgary and I like the more relaxed moderation here where the moderators use a lot more common sense than some other forums (i.e. HFBoreds) even if a lot of you Flames fans are huge homers

I think the only "balanced" sports fans are those that are following a team in a bad slump, like the NY Islanders type fans. Nothing's been good for a few years, they are almost a lock for missing the playoffs this year, and there is not alot of good to talk about.

I think most competetive team's fans are "huge homers."

But anyways, yeah, HF is garbage now... and CP is great. Not as great as before cf.com went down and we got an influx of n00bs and flamers, but it's generally got the best discussion for hockey and other Calgary centric news. CP also has a really good mix of internet culture in to OT forum, and the ticket selling section has to be the best source for Flames tickets anywhere.

I love CP.
