A more disgusting experience, though it might not sound so bad, is sucking the marrow out of a sheep's bone. The marrow itself is not bad, but the tactile experience of holding a big, broken sheep's bone with a fatty joint on the end while wearing cheap plastic gloves that make your hands sweat, and using a thin little juice box straw to suck the marrow out of the bone, watching the gooey clumps of marrow gradually get slurped up the straw. That was not enjoyable.
I've also eaten loads of other brains, internal organs, large insects, eyes, crab sperm, whole small birds and fish, ligaments, and more. As I said earlier in the thread, eating human foetus is the most shocking thing I've heard of in China, but the Chinese culinary palate accepts a lot of foods that would make the average Canadian a bit queezy.

What's with the gloves?
When I hear marrow, I think of Anthony Bourdain and how roasted bone marrow is his favourite food.

I have never had Indian food, for some reason the smell and look of it really turns me off.

By you even saying that means that you are leaving the door open to do it or that you have already done it!

Well fat is in the eye of the beholder and after numerous drinks those eyes aren't working quite as well.

This thread is making me hungry.
I won't eat raw onions, that's all I can think of right now.

My dad freakin' loves to put raw onions in salads. I don't mind the taste really, but they give me indigestion and I taste onion for days afterwards.

With you on that. Scotch eggs are really nice if they are decent quality. heat them in the oven for a few minutes to get them hot and a bit of brown sauce... YUM!

What is brown sauce? I'm guessing Worcestershire sauce, is that right?

Thousand Year old egg
It's preserved eggs that go great with congee. I love this stuff. Unfortunately, it is also probably the most revolting thing to a person who has never seen or eaten it. I dared a friend to try it and just the sight of it made him vomit on the spot.
