She's 'lucky' that the train came right away. She probably would have tried to jump down had she had a few seconds and may have been nailed by the train.
Just stupidity. And, strollers have 'parking' brakes for a reason.

She watched what she thought was her child being killed because of her own actions. She suffered more in the time between the stroller rolling away and them finding the baby alive then the justice system could ever hope in inflict.

Holy ... that makes me sick to my stomach. You can tell the Mom is in hysterics after the train passes over. I'm amazed she didn't jump down onto the tracks herself. I think I probably would have. *shudder*

I'm sure she did suffer a lot of pain, but come on, she goes for her cell phone, while her baby rolls onto train tracks... Ya must have been an important call...

I am confused why someone who would build a train platform would have such a crazy slope to it. The stroller was sitting parallel to the track, was pulled perpendicular and still had enough energy to pull it quite quickly onto the tracks. If anyone is at fault here, it is the company who designed/built the platform.

I love how many folks toss stones in glass houses. Our stroller has brakes like all the others, but we don't remember to put it on every time the stroller comes to a stop - in fact not even close. No one expects those things to roll away but sometimes it happens.
Forgetting to put the brake on in the mall is one thing, but 5 feet away from a train?
I've never in 4 years had a stroller roll away from me. Maybe I'm just more situationally aware than some people?

How dare they give a platform a mild drop to insure drainage and prevent the build up of water?

Does the slope have to go towards the tracks <danger zone>? Can it be engineered differently? I'm sure, in light of this, engineers may rethink their drainage solution. You would think that it would be a benefit to slope away from the track base, as to minimize erosion, etc.
When I use my wheelchair and I'm on the C-Train platform I almost never park perpendicular to the tracks, for this very reason. Should some whack-o find it funny to push me....
