i uploaded the newer version they released. it includes an 'export' button that will put your ratings in a new window so you can print them or put them in like word or excel and then compare the builds. seems like a solid new feature. also it apparently updated a few of the starting levels and upgrade costs. since EA was lazy again people had to manually pull the numbers out of the game, and there were a few errors.

...well this is getting disturbing.
Also last night we ran into and played against rene bourque's cousin, at least we think it was his cousin....he new bourque's middle name. Maybe it was a stalker.
Or maybe it was Flamestalker.

As of current time of this post the pro team is ranked above 100 in the season!
Also nice to see Chuckie acquire his legend card as well.

congrats to chuckie on the legend card. now i am going to complain about it...
this system with the XP points required to upgrade attributes is absolutely worthless. by the time you get your legend card, most of your individual attributes are up high enough that it costs at least 10 or 15 XP to upgrade an attribute 1 point. so considering you still just get that crappy 35 XP, you get roughly 3 upgrades per area. considering there are like 20 stats, upgrading 9 of them isn't even half a ratings point overall. so the difference between pro and legend? not much at all...
i liked that concept of starting lower and getting to be higher. but once i applied my boosts, the actual XP upgrades weren't that important after the first 2 cards. the progression is bass ackwards. the most helpful cards are the easiest to earn. how are you rewarding the persistent and skilled players? when i got my allstar card last week i didn't notice one bit of difference in my player. its ridiculous.
thoughts?

Depends how you use the 35 points. I reallocated some boosts and ended up using the points in categories that then only cost 3 - 5 points per upgrade. 105 total points is still significant and I totally notice the difference in my player as a result. The key is not overspending in any single category, otherwise the difference is small as you point out.

definitely understandable, but take athleticism for example... there are only 5 categories and 2 are useless for online play. so the difference between an allstar sniper and a legend sniper is 1 accel, 1 speed, and 1 agil... it doesn't really give a good reason to want to earn cards.

Nope, I increased my accel +1, my agility +5 and my speed was unchanged. Acceleration = 99, Agility = 90, Speed = 86. It depends how you use your points.
Funny thing is, even with 9" skates, I don't have anyone skating past me with the speed at 86.

just did a quick check. using offensive D, and always upgrading the cheapest things, here's what i found...
for athleticism, endurance and durability aren't used online. no need to waste points there. by the time you get your legend card the remaining 3 categories all cost 10 XP each. so the legend card can give you 3 attribute increases total.
for defense, i didn't put any on faceoffs as thats pretty useless. aside from that i upgraded stats depending on what was cheapest. so getting the legend card 4 attributes cost 5 XP each, 1 attribute costs 8 XP, and 1 attribute costs 10 XP. in theory i could still get 7 upgrades if i chose attributes that are just 5 each. if you account for toughness being pretty worthless it would probably be worse.
for offense, i skipped deflections as its pretty useless for me. so after picking the lowest again, when the legend card pops up, all the remaining offensive attributes costs either 8 or 10 XP. so at most i can get 4 attribute points out of that section.
in total, i could get 14 attribute points at most from the legend card. this is assuming that i was giving no preference to the importance of stats. and trust me, as a math nerd, i have spent a lot of time maximizing my player; thats why i posted that player tester page...
so a legend card at most gives you 14 attribute points. but with a stupid camouflage helmet i can get +15! makes no sense to me... (i do realize that most people already have custom gear, its just the concept of it that kills me)
edit: i realize these numbers are just talking about an offensive defenseman build. but you get the idea.

In my example above, I re-jigged my boosts (exchanged a +3 for +5) which is why I had the +5 total.
Regardless of the above, the player with fully loaded boosts + legend card will still be statistically superior than those that do not. However, the stats are just the tool box. If a player don't know how to wield them then it ain't gonna do much good. All the top teams will be on a level playing field anyways and then it's up to the skill of the player, just like it was in 09.

and i do see where you are coming from. but it just seems so silly to even have this system if the difference in cards doesn't really matter. just give everyone XP as default and let them tweak their guy accordingly.
all but the legend card are pretty easy to earn. so with the minor difference for the legend card, it makes the system a big waste of time as it currently is.
