If there was a kid in there, it's now a matter of conducting a search to find the body. He probably fell out quite a while ago.

These tools on CNN should stop wildly speculating. In the span of 1 minute they went from being super happy and saying how this is a wonderful outcome to being sombre.

My money is that the kid is at his friends house... worried about getting in trouble for launching this thing.

Hopefully the kid released the balloon then ran off into hiding because he was scared of being punished.

How the hell could he fall out?

I'm thinking he wasn't in there to begin with.

They're saying the Father is a former weather man and a "weather enthusiast" and like to track weather with homemade balloons.

There is no way the kid is in there, nobody is responding, the balloon is torn appart.

Police just reported NOBODY INSIDE

Hiding at a friends cause he accidentally released the balloon his parents had been working on? He is six after all...maybe he hopped out before it got too high. Or maybe he just released it and took off?

It doesn't even look like a kid could have even gotten in there. Maybe it was an elaborate stunt to use Emergency services tracking devices to test their ballon?

Lmao i just finished saying those exact words to my sister. Now they are saying they were featured on a ABC show so this might just be for more publicity.

How on earth can a kid release the anchor and get in at the same time? I'm sure as soon as you release it it would be air borne no?

This sounds like a big load of BS!!

Why the hell would a "weather balloon" have a "door" in it!!!

It doesn't even look like people were meant to get in that thing.

Well, I guess I get back to work, and wait for the real story... I agree that this smells of either mistake by the 6 year old, or exploitation of a 6 year old for publicity.

A runaway balloon has touched down in Colorado after a 6-year-old boy was thought to have untied it from his family home in Fort Collins. A sibling said he saw the boy get into the craft Thursday morning, but CNN affiliate KMGH reports no one was found inside [CNN]

Since the door on the balloon was unlocked, it's possible the boy had fallen out, Martinez said.
