Happy that this week is the bye week! Peyton gets to rest his sore knee, another week of rest for Sanders who should debut against the Rams. Also Jackson and Hayden should benefit from the rest by being back in the lineup. Finally, it gives Gonzalez a few more weeks to recover. Can't wait until everyone is back and healthy.
I can't believe Lacey went undrafted. He stepped up beautifully against the Titans.

A chintzy call, I suppose, but I would have expected them to throw that flag.

I'm not stunned by the flag, although you see things like that let go all the time, I just took issue with moon's 'clear cut hitting the receiver and interfering' take on it. Whatever, didn't end up mattering anyways.

It was a joke. Which was why I included a shot at the Broncos (to see if DFF would get worked up) and a shot at the Patriots that always deserved to be made fun of.

Ah, sorry about that then. I haven't been reading this thread all along so I dropped the ball on that one, call me Braylon.

A chintzy call and you would expect them to throw the flag, this isn't the CFL. The refs need to be better that play could have cost the Dolphins the game and the season. 1-4 vs 4-1 instead of 2-3 vs 3-2. That was a pivotal call, thank god Rex Ryan and his loud mouth got what they deserved in the end. Anybody else here what Orlando Pace said after the game, talk about a class act.
Orlando Pace
"I'm going to be honest, I can't respect that stuff. All that Wildcat. Because we're in the NFL, man. If you're out there running that nonsense, it's crap. They got us today but we'll see them again and we'll have something for them."
It will disapear when teams figure out how to stop it. Don't forget Miami has an o-line built for the wild cat, they didn't spend over 160million on the o-line for nothing.

The Saints play the Phins in two weeks, I am not looking forward to all that Wildcat. Philly ran it quite heavily against the Saints in Week 2 and New Orleans appeared to have a tough time stopping it(though they probably didn't gameplan for it against the Eagles, which I'm sure they will against Miami). Here's hopin the Saints jump out to a quick couple score lead early like they have a couple times this year so the Dolphins are forced to abandon it.

Warming? I'm in love.
He was my choice for coach and I was very happy Bowlen hired him. Looks like he knows a little more about the job then I did at this point.

I think Collie is better than Gonzalez.

I figured as much, but it totally went over my head. I have no idea what you're referencing.

I'd guess fans here were 50/50 during the Cutler / McDaniels fiasco. I was firmly on the "shut your whiny mouth Cutler" side. Everyone loves the Broncos here now, of course, Denver fans of all sports are notorious bandwagoners IMO.
The one thing that is starting to irritate me is the non Bronco fans and their reasoning. Not directed at anyone specifically, but I'm sick of the weekly change. First it was "We'll see how they do against the Cowboys, then I'll say they're for real." OK, held the best (at the time) rushing team in the league to less than 80 yards. Check. Next? "That didn't count. We'll see how they do against the Patriots, then I'll say they're for real". Defeat the almighty Pats. Out coach the hoody. Two 90+ yards TD drives to win. Check. Check. Check.
Now? "Well, the Pats didn't play well. We'll see how they do against the Chargers." Jesus, it feels like the Broncos will need to go 16-0 just to get some damn respect. I'm not saying they're winning the SB, but damn what does this team have to do?
Not talented? Arguably the best offensive line in football, Pro bowler Marshall, stars Royal and Scheffler, #1 pick Knowshon? The only difference on the offence is Orton instead of Cutler, and Orton is looking damn good now.
The defence is completely remodeled, Doom is still a beast, Pro Bowler DJ Williams, Hall of Famers Champ Bailey and Weapon X? Talent is no issue with this team. I'm really hoping they keep this up, they have a chance to be something really special if not this year, then in the next few.

My fault as I was referencing the numerous Jets fans that tried to explain the call that way at the bar I was at. I assumed that many other Jets fans did the same thing.
As for the Broncos reference, only because nobody defends their team with as much vigor as you do. (That was meant in a good way as I respect your passion for your team.)

When teams figure out how to stop it?
Did I miss the Dolphins being some unstoppable team the past two years?
It appears that many teams have easily stopped it.
Hey when it works it seems to be good but it isn't like the Dolphins are using it to run up some sort of good record or big offensive stats.

Ya, they just used it to win the division last year and run all over a defense who had pretty much every analyst drooling all over themselves 2 weeks ago.

I'm sorry, chintzy calls happen in all games, in all sports.
I don't think Bronco fans need to remind you of a game last year, or Raiders fan (the 4 of them) need to remind you about that little gaffe in the playoffs. Or even Raven fans need to remind you about last week.
So don't get on a high and mighty pedestal saying the refs tried to give the game to Rex Ryan. That's just utter and complete b/s.
It was the call they saw fit, I've seen that kind of play go both ways.

Dolphins got bad news today when they found out Patrick Cobbs is out for the season with an acl tear. Rookie Lex Hilliard might get a few plays in the wildcat but I think Pat White might get more of a look using wild cat.

Some teams did stop it last year, but this year looks to be different. The o-line was upgraded spending over 160million in the last few years on that o-line. They've got the best rushing attack in the NFL right now and they basically get most of there running yards from it. They've added more twists to the wildcat they are lineup with 4 TE's on some of those runs, some of those TE's are 270lbs almost a small offensive lineman. As per easily stopping it, I don't seem to think so, only one defensive team did it easily last year and that was Baltimore in the playoffs.
By the way the Dolphins used it 25% of the time yesterday. They are doing more things with it, also don't be surprised if you see Thigpen or White running and throwing out of it.
When teams stop it consistantly then things will change. I do have a feeling sooner or later teams will figure out how to stop it and by then hopefully Henne will be able to carry the offense.

Colts have given a tryout to kicker Matt Stover.
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/r...,4860223.story
Vinatieri has a knee issue and this is for backup. Stover had a contract offer from Cleveland earlier this year but declined saying it wasn't a good fit.
