Maybe, because their recent presidents Bush, Bush, Clinton, Reagan were so good for their country. Oh, and McCain was such a great alternative too.
Edited for sarcasm.

He's still going to be the best president the US has seen since Kennedy.

I can see why you put him in the same bag as Kennedy, as Obama is a carbon copy of him - all glitz and no substance.

Huh? Kennedy was good? And there hasn't been better since? What about that guy who replaced him who probably was the only man in his era powerful enought to make Civil Rights legislation happen (you could argue that LBJ's escalation of Vietnam tarnishes his legacy somewhat, but by passing the Civil Rights Act he accomplished a hell of a lot more than Kennedy). Also, Reagan's destruction of the Soviet Bloc was a pretty big accomplishment as well. Clinton also did more than Kennedy. What did Kennedy do?

I like Obama, that being said I'm not sure what he did to warrant this.

Will they take it away when the men on the moon retaliate for NASA's actions this morning?

I think you are all forgetting something.
Barack got a Boston cop and professor to settle their differences over a beer!

So shouldn't beer be winning the Nobel Prize then?

As for people that actually did something to warrant winning it.
Quote:
Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."
|
Quote:
Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."
|
Quote:
Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."

First black president gets the nobel peace prize for being the first black president. Not much else to it, I think.

It's not what Kennedy did..............it's what he was going to do, before getting shot in the face for wanting to do it. He is the last president who wasn't a corporate puppet.......

Quote:
OSLO, NORWAY (The Borowitz Report) - As the world responded with a mixture of surprise and amazement to the announcement of President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, Nobel insiders revealed that the President's "beer summit" at the White House put him over the top.
"The committee was definitely split down the middle right up until the end," said Agot Valle, a Norwegian politician and member of the five-person Nobel committee. "Some of them were still quite upset about that nasty business with the Somali pirates."
But, according to Ms. Valle, "someone brought up the beer summit, and we all agreed that that was awesome."
Ms. Valle said she hoped that Mr. Obama's victory would be seen not only as a victory for him, but "as a tribute to the healing power of beer."

This award is completely unsupportable and really has nothing to do with Obama as it would were it any other overly-hyped leader bestowed the award merely for being overly-hyped. I shudder to think of those that work tirelessly day in and day out for real peace (not rhetoric peace) who got shafted by this obamanation from the Nobel crew.
