Given plenty of players second chances that deserved it, the two you mentioned didn't in my mind.

But it would be interesting to see if you bring up Vick if he had gone to the Red Skins and not the Eagles.
I don't know, you just seem to get have a bucket full of hate for certain players.

As for Vick, I think I'm on record as saying he deserved a second chance when he was released. He did his time and he's been trying to make amends. I wasn't thrilled with the Eagles signing him because I thought they didn't need him from a football standpoint.

Considering that you were responding to my comment that he was a jerk and that was based on him taunting and taking cheap shots it seems that you implied that.

If not why bother quoting my post?

Considering Fleury's history with my favorite sports team and the fact that at best it is 50/50 on whether Vick deserved a second chance it seems more like those are pretty unique situations than me not giving guys a second chance.

You might be I don't remember either way, I have no reason to not believe you.

My main issue with Vick is not that he doesn't deserve a second chance because of what he did but because he isn't good enough in terms of helping a team on the field.

If you read my supposed not giving Vick a second chance it is 100% because of football reasons.

Because you make it seem like the game is about being nice to each other. Allen has had his share of cheap moments, but if we're going on what he's done on the field lately he hasn't done anythign out of line.

There's a difference between being a jerk and going out there to hurt people.

Quit bringing up stuff that happened over two years ago. You don't like him, fine, stop whining about his antics on the field because the numbers speak for themselves.

If he was taunting all the time, he'd get flags for....you guessed it....unsportsmanlike conduct-taunting.

I have no problem with guys who are jerks but go out there and play the game right.

Sure I want mean guys on my team but that doesn't mean they have to take cheap shots and then taunt the other team/fans.

Adam Schefter is reporting that the game was the highest rated cable broadcast ever, scoring a 14.2 rating.

Adam Schefter also believes the Crabtree saga ends today.

49ers released a WR (Dobson Collins) from their practice roster last night. I wonder if that is to send someone down and make room for Crabtree on the roster?

Meh, off by 1 zero, that aint bad!!

I wonder if the 49ers will have taken any money off the table. And if he signs, how he will be welcomed into the locker room.

The on field stuff isn't from two years ago. Last night for instance a coach had to escort him to the locker room because he couldn't continue to shut up.

I agree the numbers speak for themselves he is a good pass rusher never argued that.

Judging by the history of pro sports if he comes in and makes plays he will be welcomed just fine.

Initially I think most athletes will be pretty meh about it. I think that fans take these things a lot more seriously than athletes do.

Oh you mean beacuse the Packers assistant coach had a problem with his perfectly legal hit on Aaron Rodgers? Ya, I'd be yapping at him too if he was whining like that.

Last night he made a legit play at the end of the half and the Green Bay sidelines got their panties in a bunch. Allen did exactly what I'd want every single player on my team to do.

Really?

You would feel the need to yap at him so much that a coach on your team had to say enough and push you off the field?

Anyways, you are going to defend Allen no matter what he does.

I don't like the garbage he pulls on the field and thought he was a bad influence on a KC team that didn't need any more trouble considering their record.

That isn't going to change because he gets some sacks for the Vikings.

I totally agree. Until further notice, Peyton Manning is an absolute assassin when given time to throw. #1 by a big margin, IMO.

Word is the 49ers are asking to tack an extra year onto the deal they already offered since he has missed/will miss a sizeable chunk of this one. The 49ers may offer to throw in a bunch of incentives that can only be reached if Crabtree become one if the top elite, just to let his camp pump up the value and save face.

I think the team will accept him just fine as long as he comes in and works. They are all on contract and even if they don't agree with the hold out they respect that it is his business.

Even Singletary held out for a contract once, and he has been very careful not to burn any bridges with Crabtree.

He not only get's sacks, but he's a leader in the locker room and is consdiered a veteran on that defense. And most importantly he's well liked by his teammates, coaches and his bosses (the general manager and the owner).

I'm going to defend him and you are going to hate on him. I see nothing wrong with what he does. You consider celebrations as taunting, you consider yapping back to a coach "garbage", and you refer to him as a drty player.

Like I said from the get go, you sound like a bitter fan who's life has been personally affected by his "garbage".

But I've been told to tack that on to moon being moon, so I will do just that.

I knew there would have to be something added on, in terms of years, or something taken off, in terms of money, becuase this is the longest I've ever seen a holdout last.

Singeltary will do great things with that team, got all the respect in the world for that guy.
